Dan Gilbert is an instructor at Musicians Institute, and has put his years of experience to a great soloing instructional book. Dan is one of the most demanding instructors at MI. Lots of great backing tracks to solo over, with good detailed instructions over scale theory. This book is laid out very well, with maximum learning in mind. I think this book is a must have, and I return to it alot. If you can't go to MI to learn this stuff, then get this book. You'll be happy you bought it.
If you are ready to go to the next level from the usual begginer playing, this is the book to get in order to become better. I am bearly half way through this book and my soloing has gotten way better. Actually, I was not a soloist at all before I had this book. Now I am a more complete guitarist having rythm and soloing skills.
