Wow, I was impressed by this deal. If you get this pair on sale it can't be beat. I'd bought one just like these two a few months ago and paid more for the one than I paid for this 2-pack. Sturdy, foam rubber cushioned rest points, and easy to fold up and transport.

These stands seem to be ok and the fact you get 2 of them for this price is a pretty good incentive however, just know that they're from China. Yeah a lot of stuff is from China but the foam used in these is very Chinese. What I mean by that is it reeks, just reeks. From the moment you open the package you're hit with a very strong chemical smell that is wafting out of the foam they use. There has to be toxic waste used in it. Each stand comes with a label warning you not to use them with Nitrocellulose finished guitars as it may cause fading/marring of the finish. Not many guitars are nitro finished these days but just know that fact. We put them out in the garage for 2 days to "air out" then brought them inside the house/put them to use.

Excellent price, sturdy strong stands

By Daniel

from San Antonio

You cant beat this price for a pair of stands. I already had one stand but my bass is heavy and when i place it at the stand, the stand wiggles, like when a fat person gets on a motorcycle. With these new stands this doesn't happen, the lower fork is sturdy and its like im placing the bass on the floor because it doesn't move at all. Im not giving it full 5 stars because of the foam that ruins nitrocellulose finishes, i have no idea what my guitar and bass are made of, so theres my problem, and they should have warned about this on the website rather than attached on the stand where i already bought them.

Musician's Gear stands vs. Gear One stand

By Bobby

from Denton, NC

Musician's Gear guitar stand compared to Gear One GS5 stand. I recently purchased a pair of Musician's Gear stands that are made in a similar design to the Gear One GS5 stand. The Musician's Gear stands were on sale 2 for 10 bucks and when I bought the Gear One stand on sale, I believe for a similar but maybe slightly higher price. Can't remember exactly since it was a few months ago. The Gear One is made of larger, thicker, heavier metal and when you pick up both stands, the Gear One is substantially heavier and stronger. Less flex when handled. The Musicians Gear stands are fine for most guitars and the price is great, but if I were going to use one of these for my Peavy T-40 bass which is very heavy, it would be the Gear One. One good point for the Musician's Gear stands is the rubber strap that goes across the neck yoke. The Gear One did not have one. I do not use it often but at least it is there if I should need it. The tripod base on the Musician's Gear is slightly larger, maybe 1/2" longer legs and the neck pole is perhaps 2-3 inches longer. I personally like the Gear One better due to it's more substantial build quality. It is worth the small price difference. However I do not feel I got ripped off by purchasing the Musician's Gear stands. They do what they are supposed to do for a great price.

If you need something durable, shop on

By Ian

from Beaumont, CA

I bought these stands for the cheap price but after only a week of use, the weld at the top of one of them began to break. Won't be long until I return it. If you're going to be moving them at all, don't buy these, you'll be replacing them before long. If you're just going to leave it in one place, it should be fine.

The right stand at the right price.

By Elisha

This was just what we needed, when we needed it, at a price that couldn't be beat. I wouldn't gig with it, but for basic home use, it's perfect.

just a little flimsy

By Matt

from San Francisco, CA

Packs down very small, can't beat the price for a metal stand. The support bar does not lock so it can slide out of the top of the stand. Not the biggest base so not the most stable stand but OTOH it has a small footprint. It's fine for a cramped home studio.

great stand! only drawback is that the the base spins freely so setting the guitar back down can be a chore.

CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP

By Steven Kirschenbaum

Actually came with a warning not to put your FINISHED guitar on these stands because of the foam rubber they use. The material of the foam rubber used would 'stain' the finish on your guitars if using this stand. I gave it two stars because of the price.

Worth it

By James Spier

A two pack for the price of one.. Its a no brainer.. To those complaining about having reactions to the neck material.. Get some leather or an old shirt. Quit complaining about cheap guitar stands. If you want higher quality materials then buy a more expensive product.

2 Gstands UP.........

By Matthew Cochran

from Seattle, WA

Ordered 5 days later shazam.............Assembly a breeze and don't worry about the Nitro Cellulous Lacquer finish that your guitar MAY have.........as long as they are a Fender or Epiphone electric . Most custom shops have these finish.
