For the price, the stand is well constructed. Do heed the warning about the effect of the foam sleeves on nitrocellulose finishes (I neglected to read the warning tag attached to the stand thinking it was a price tag - d'oh!). Rather than return it, I simply went to a well-known auto parts store and bought a couple sections of 5/8" rubber hose (the kind for fuel/vacuum) and replaced the foam with it. Et voila! With a minimal amount of effort, I now have a sturdy stand that won't harm my bass's finish. The hose even looks better than the foam did. Beginners: if you don't buy this stand, buy another. Having your instrument at the ready definitely encourages practice!

I ask for a stand when I bought my new guitar. This is what I was given. I wasn't warned in the store not to use this on my new Les Paul Standard. Exactly one week on the stand and it ruined the neck. I see it printed here not for Nitro Cellulose Finishes, but apparently the salesman didn't know or didn't care. Called and they say Not Covered. Make sure you know what your getting.

Normally you get what you pay for...

By Hannah Michelle

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

I was in desperate need for a stand. 3 guitars, all leaning up against my wall. I bought this and was shocked how well it held my guitar! It grips well, and you can take out the guitar with putting yourself in pain! I switch this stand between my acoustic and axe. I love it!

Basic Can't Be Beat

By Monkd

from Woodland Hills, CA

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

This is a good, well-made stand for your home, but I wouldn't recommend it for stage or commercial studio or any high-traffic area; for those areas you'll want something with a heavier or wider, tip-proof base.

Great Value

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

No tricks here, this does the job and is easy on the wallet. Looks good, lightweight, and I don't see the strap causing this delamination problem as there is at least an inch clearance between it and the fretboard.

Musicians Gear Tubular Guitar Stand - Black

By Don

from Davie, Florida

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

This is a great stand for the money. What a terrific value!! My bass sits securely in this stand. I was concerned at first about the strength and stability of this stand but figured that if it wasn't good, I would give it to one of my friends that play an acoustic. It's MINE!!!

Great product!

By Tavo

from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

Awesome stand, cheap, and unbelievable strong for the cheap price, the tripod its perfectly ensambled so it won̴t fall with you gear weight... Only problem was i didn̴t read the manufacturer warnings, i noticed a little scratch in one of the bass legs, i figured that the foam was bad for my bass finish, so i used an old clean boxer (pure cotton, soft fabric), cut it, and wrapped it around the foam, and that̴s all. It holds my big Dean ML 2A Bass without a problem!

You get what you pay for. This Guitar Stand comes with a tag that reads the following: Attention: Not recommended for guitars with nitro cellulous lacquer finish, The material of foam might cause unexpected chemical reaction that may deteriorate the finish!!!!!

Good Enough For the Job

By Gary Tompkins

from Maryland

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

I have 6 of these stands and a couple more on order. This does exactly what it claims to do; it supports your guitar or bass. The steel frame is plenty sturdy. The padding is adequate. The height will adjust to accommodate any reasonable length body/neck combo. The tripod is stable. The rubber stop prevents tipping. They hold my solid bodies, bass and acoustics just fine. What else does a stand have to do to earn 5 stars? Hand you your guitar? It will hold your guitar just fine. Well worth the eight dollars.

Great Stand

By Mitch

from Houston, Texas

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

You can't go wrong with this stand. For the generous price, you have no reason to not get it. It's just as sturdy and nice as my friend's $50 Hercules stand. Just make sure you don't have a Gibson or guitar with nitrocellulose, because it will mess up the finish. The stand is very durable, padded, easy to assemble (it took me 20 seconds), has adjustable height, and looks very sharp holding my Epiphone SG 400. I strongly recommend this stand you won't regret buying it.

Unstable Stand Easily Tips Over

By DARREN

from Fullerton, CA

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

I bought this stand based upon images of it displayed on the GC website; however, from the angle of the photos, it's difficult to see that one of the three legs is not of equal length. It's about only two to three inches long, which causes the stand itself to tilt backwards. Because of this shorter leg on the back side of the stand, the stand easily tips to either side, causing the stand and the guitar to fall one direction or the other, and it takes very little nudging to tip the stand. The only "safe" place to locate this stand is in a corner where walls meet at right angles so that your gear falls against either wall rather than succumbing to gravity's full effect. The more weight on the stand, the greater the inertia, so don't risk setting your expensive, solid-body American Standard Strat on this flimsy set of tubes. Perhaps a ukulele would be okay, though.... If you want to ensure that your axe won't tip over, avoid this stand and pay a few extra dollars for a stand that has legs of three equal length. That's the key to stable hardware; that's the simple physics of a tripod stand: 3 legs equal in length. I'll be returning this product for a refund and buying a better, albeit more expensive stand. The extra cash is a good insurance policy.

Great Sturdy and Affordable Stand

By Ryan O

from VA

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

This stand is just what I expected. It's very nice, and has a padded neck area, rubber feet, an adjustable height, and it folds up quite nicely. I would highly recommend this product. I wouldn't pay more for anything else because I'm not sure how to improve this one. Just buy one; very easy on the pocketbook.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

I was a little worried about getting a guitar stand for such a low price, but now that I have it, I think it great. I use it mostly around the house. I like the locking strap. I plan to get another one soon.

Nitro-cellulose blues

By Guitarist

from OR

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

As a stand this works pretty well for the price. However, like others I also wasn't warned about the damage that the foam does to nitro-cellulose finished guitars. Result: one AAA finished Les Paul Studio with serious issues on the body and neck where it rested on the stand. Beware!

Fairly good stand

About Me Novice

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stand:

You get what you pay for. I had this stand for about a year and broke just yesterday. The top piece where the neck is rested was poorly welded. It bent upward, and I thought it was supposed to bend,so I bent it down and that's when it broke. Overall its a good stand, just be careful with the top piece.
