I ordered this stand for use with the game "Rock Band" because I needed a mic stand that would allow me to sing while I played guitar or drums. I didn't want to spend a lot on hardware for a game so this product was perfect. It can be easily adjusted to a comfortable position and folds up easily for transportation and storage. I'm not a "real" musician so I can't say how suitable it would be for those purposes but it's exactly what I needed.

Not a bad value for a low-end mic stand. Arrived damaged with a broken plastic cap for the boom tightening screw. Packaged well (box in a box) so conceivably was broken at original manufacturer. Would not recommend for frequent/heavy gigging use as the plastic caps on tightening screws are sure to break overtime as mine was upon arrival. I didn't bother returning though as the screw still works and it'll serve the purpose of a light-weight mic stand to use/stay in rehearsal space that won't get moved around a lot so needn't be a more expensive/road-worthy/heavy duty model.

Much better than I expected

By Rich

from Riverton, Utah

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

For the price I was expecting something flimsy that would be barely adequate. I was surprised at how nice of a stand this is. Note, that no Mic clip is included with the boom.

Musician's Gear Mic Stand

By Eric

from Greenfield, IN

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

I bought this stand to complete my home recording studio. As the description states it is very stable and feels like it can take a beating. The threaded adapter worked perfectly with my Blue Snowball. Very easy to adjust with the clamps, but I still feel like there should be a way to get the mic closer to where I need it. All in all, i am very happy with this stand.

Pleasantly surprised

By Glenn

from Ithaca, NY

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

I wasn't expecting much for such a cheap stand, but it's sturdier than I expected and as adjustable as you'd expect a boom mic stand to be. I'd recommend this to anyone that is looking for this type of stand. It's nice that it folds up as well (and doesn't roll around in the back of your car like the rounded base does).

Great stand.

By Samuel

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

Its a solid stand. Worth the money. Parts are good and strong, not cheap and flimsy. I honestly don't know how this stand could get any better, unless it had a bunch of extra features and was made out of some new material or something. BUt come on, its just a stand. It works great. good price and good investment. quality.

BAD DESIGN

By Jeramy Milligan

from Dahlonega, GA

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

I was happy to get the product on the 2nd day after ordering. However, upon the inital use the knob holder on the boom broke right in half. I'v had it now for a couple of weeks and still havent been able to use it. I don't know if I should return it or what. I mean the shipping would cost more than a new one!

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

OMG... this stand is the best ever made.... EVER..... in the history of stands...
Should cost 1000 times as much, what a bargain......
So many uses beyond just holding a mic; hang clothes on it, prop open a door, make a "limbo bar".....
Love all the color choices...like a Model A (only comes in Black)...
    But seriously......
A good light-weight stand at a reasonable price.

I got this mic stand and it worked great for a while. It still works now even though a little piece has broken off. It is easy to maneuver and store away, and can be put together easily.

    By Judy

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

Given the price, I was expecting an item that would not stand up under the weight of a mic and pop filter. I was wrong! It's heavy, sturdy and performs exactly as advertised. The price could not be beat.

    Gets the job done

    By Clyde

    from South Bend, Indiana

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

It's nothing flashy and yes, it does look thin comparatively, but it gets the job done. I bought two and use them to hold up some condenser mics as overheads and on amps. I left them above my kit for about 2 weeks as I recorded and they didn't seem to slip at all. I never had to adjust them because of slipping. While using these to hold up over head mics I noticed that they stood a little crooked with the boom arm extended, but it wasn't a bad thing. I would recommend this stand for studio work, but performers may need something more sturdy.

    By Wang Chowder

    from cincinnati, ohio

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

for the price paid for the stands they do the job just as well as others twice the price. they are designed so that the stand itself will not go flat or lose balance because of such things. tall enough for our 6"4 bass player to use.

Definitely worth it for the money

    By Mr. T

    from Brentwood, CA

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

I use this stand pretty much everyday for tons of different things. It works well for standalone singing, guitar playing while singing, and reaching down to amplify and acoustic guitar. The stand is a moderate weight and pretty dang sturdy. While you definitely shouldnt be trying superman moves with this thing, it will hold up to abuse and lots of usage. The black color looks noce and the stand is easily manuverable, presentable, and can hold almost any microphone withour leaning or falling over. I would recommend this to and starting musician in need of a cheap stand and boom that gets the job done well without hurting the wallet.

    Fantastic Mic Stand!

    By Jesse Stauffer

    from Dallas, Texas

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom:

After reading some reviews about this stand, I was a little skeptical about it. I had heard that is would normally break while shipping and that is was not heavy duty at all. After receiving and using the product, I have to say the complete opposite! The stand is VERY durable and works perfectly with my condenser mic and pop filter. It has greatly engineered adjustable settings and is even tall enough for me! (I am 6'6"). I am very glad I purchased this product and it is a must buy for anyone who is search of a fantastic microphone stand!
