I bought 2 of these because my single rack became too heavy to pick up(!)after I replaced my power amp with a Crest CA-9...which weighs 47 Lbs . So I split my rig into 2 cases to make it easier to transport. The musicians friend cases looked really good for the money, and so I ordered 2 from the mail-order site. They arrived quickly in perfect shape, and are really nice racks. They are well constructed and hold my heavy gear without a hitch. They stack nicely, and look good to boot.

I purchased the 2 space case. If you are thinking about buying one keep in mind these are very light duty. The wood is very thin. In the desciption it says "Welded rack frame contributes to overall strength of case". I was expecting to see a metal frame inside the case. What they are refering to is the aluminum trim. The case I received has a defect in the black finish on the top of the case. This tells me the quality controll is not great. They could have mounted the feet on that side so the defect was on the bottom, but didn't. I didn't want to go through the process of returning it and waiting for a replacement. The handle is mounted on the cover which makes me feel the my amp will go down a flight of stairs if the latches give out while I'm carrying it. Anyway, to sum it up This is an ok case for keeping out dust during storage. If you're looking for a case that will take a beating, spend a few more bucks on something heavy duty.

Excellent Value!

By David Schnerr

from Evansville IN

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

I stumbled upon this rack case online. It was sort of 'hidden' on the website. I bought the 4-space, as it allows me to 'add to' if needed for only $10.00 more than the 2-space. I'm housing a Gallien-Krueger Backline 600. The mounts and screws, etc. came with it. It took only 3 days to get it. I would recommend this rack case line to everyone. I would like to see this line in our local store.

Good Bang for the Buck

By Rich

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

We play out at local gigs nothing long distance, We have 2-2's 1-4 and 1-6 that hold all of our sound gear. The cases are built well with heavy duty hardware and are stackable. Spend some extra time putting your gear in by adding some support around your units in the back and your good to go.

Great for the money

By Chris

from Richmond, VA

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

This case is one that I'm proud to carry around and leave in plain sight on stage. I think it looks very aesthetically pleasing, it simplifies your setup, and it has a much lower price point that most hard plastic rack brands. My use for it now is my Line 6 Pod Pro effects unit. I probably wouldn't be as proud to leave a Gator, or other type rack product, out on stage, but since I've gotten this one, I'm looking for more stuff to fill it with!

These cases are not road worthy but will handle the normal use under a mobil Dj not stacking a lot on top of it. I is a nice case but dont stand on it.

Light Duty

By Danny

from Denver, CO

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

I bought this case second hand but essentially unused. It is what it is....fiberboard. It will keep your gear housed, but protected? not so much. The corners are as pictured...a single angle cap and rivet! Not all that sturdy. Still, for the weekend gig, housing in a practice space, etc., it is a case and better than nothing. For the road, just be aware.

Very Good Deal

By DJ EZE M.

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

Very nice and sturdy case for the price. I use it to transport my Crown XL402 amp. Had to add some support to the rear of the amp. No big project, 2 pieces of wood (1 1/2" X 3/4") and 4 screws did the job. I recommend this case. Great Value.

Musician's Gear 6 space rack

By Steve Weber

from Belle Mead, NJ

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

This case looks great, is functional, and is affordable when compared to other cases out there. I will be using it to hold a power unit, a sound module brain (MUSE Receptor), and a 3 space drawer. I am looking forward to many years of instrument protection with this set-up.

Good Quality

By Brandon Johnson

from Philadelphia, PA

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

I was hesitant to buy this rack because of some negative comments in some reviews. However, I was surprised because the quality was much better than I expected. These racks are heavy and look good. Mine had no defects. The walls are thin, but every corner and seam is wrapped in heavy aluminum. These things have more metal on them than Rob Halford. You would probably need a direct hit by a sharp object in the middle of one of the sides to damage your equipment. Ultimately I returned mine because it was far deeper than I needed, but it had nothing to do with the quality.

Best Bang for the Bucks

By STEVE BRONSON

from Detroit, MI

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

I own two of the 2 space racks, and one each of the four and six space racks. I started out 5 years ago with the six space rack with a 2 space 1100w power amp, sound modules and a sub-mixer. It held up better than my back did, so I've moved and added amps into the 2 and 4 space racks to lighten up what I used to call the "widow-maker". Be smart in how you mount your gear (heavy stuff on the bottom). I did, and would recommend, adding angle brackets between the bottom of the case and the rear of any amp to so it's supported in the back and not just hanging off the front mounting rails. These cases are both functional and good-looking and will hold up to constant gigging, providing you are moving your gear yourself (not your roid raged roadie).

DO NOT BUY THIS!

By James Davenport

from KCMO

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

This case is huge, it's nearly 3.5' deep and it only loads from one side. Mine came dirty and smudged from use even though I bought it new. That means someone else bought it and returned it. I returned mine. Half of the screw holes were stripped and one of the locks on the side would get stuck every other time you latched it down. The inside of the case looks horrible. There is glue and unfinished plywood. The screws were crooked and you could tell the workmanship was shotty just lookin' at it. This case is very low quality. If you're serious about your gear save up the extra fifty bucks and buy a good case.

Good build quality. The long dimension panels (top and bottom) are thin and bend/flex under the weight of the rack even when lightly loaded. Would not recommend for heavy gear or road use.

received the product and heard something rolling around inside the package. after opening package I found the one rack rail was just laying in the inside of rack. no bolts or nuts there to install. old saying is you get what you pay for. It does have a nice look to it though. But is not a road ready rack.

Comments about Musician's Gear Rack Flight Case:

I purchased a 2U case for my bass amp head. The case is well made and sturdy. Latches are good quality and overall lineup of case and clamps are dead on. It looks great and is a terrific buy for the money. I would say the quality exceeded my expectations based on the cost. I would also say as long as you don't throw it down a flight of stairs it should last a very long time.
