I got a couple of these along with a new pedal. After messing with my new pedal for awhile it seemed like even in bypass mode the pedal was killing some of the treble and bite from my guitar as if someone tossed a wet blanket over my amp. I pulled the pedal out of my chain eliminating one of these cables and it still sounded the same. I then pulled this cable out and replaced it with one of my ten year old cheap'o cables and my tone was back. I swapped the other one of these cables in to see if it was just the one that was bad, same problem. These just seem to muffle my guitar's sound. I looked at the cables and connections and everything is soldered and covered in heat shrink perfectly. Not sure what it is but these just don't play well with my equipment. I would give it more stars for build quality alone because it is top notch, but can't because it just kills my guitar's sound.

GOOD cables

By Spencer

from Vacaville, CA

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

These cords are great if you are setting up a pedal board. Anyone saying they take away from tone of the instrument or pedals is wrong. if you are losing tone or effect its because of the order you have the pedals set up in or the the connection tightness not the cord quality.

Pretty nice, I got this and i use it too hook up my Metal Zone distortion pedal and Wah. It is nice so you don't have to buy another really long chord just to connect two pedals

Good if you can get one that works

By Tim

from NY

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

I have a large pedal board consisting of around 10 pedals. These are the cables the guys at GC hand me every time i go shopping there. out of the 5 or 6 i have had at least 3 just magically died on me after little or no use. if you get lucky, they're ok, personally, i would stay away from them

Nothing wrong with these.

By GORDON PIERCE

from Elgin, IL

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

Excellent patch cable. They don't suck tone and they don't fall apart like others have stated. If you have any doubts, buy one of these and buy a $20+ cable. Try them both with your friends/family listening. Try each cable, don't tell them which is which. Ask them to tell the difference. They can't, and neither can you. You'll be returning the $20+ cable and keeping this one. People are often duped by retailer and manufacturer "hype", when in fact, nobody will be able to tell the difference between this cable and a monster cable.

Dont be cheap

By Jay

from Aledo TX

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

I know these reviews say that these dont take away from your tone and its just the way you set your pedals. but that is completely false in a sense. I know its tempted to buy a bunch of these but belive me when its true that you get what you pay for. If your lucky these will last you 6 months or more before going out. as for tone wise, go out and find a decent cable (yea im talking about something $20 or more) you'll find that compaired to these your tone will sound like a wool rug has been lifted off your amp. Any serious guitarist will tell you "Dont buy Multi Colored Shoe laces!!", if your closest player then these should be fine, but if you want the best tone from your amp and guitar, spend the extra few bucks

Excellent Cable

By GORDON PIERCE

from Elgin, IL

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

After reading reviews (pro/con), I decided to take a gamble and bought 3 of them. I figured...why not?? GC is on my way to/from work so if I didn't like them, I could easily return them. I now own 8 of them. I have not experienced any tone loss at all and, while practicing in the basement with fluorescent lighting, no noise. I've purchased the tweed 6" and 12". The actual color of the cables that I've received are different than pictured, and I view that as a good thing. Mine are red with blue instead of the black with red that is pictured. Like some of the others, I've noticed that the connector sleeve comes loose. If you're the type of person who patches their pedals/pedal board and never touches them, just give the sleeve a good firm twist and plug in. If you find that you're the type who's constantly moving gear around, you might want to partially unscrew the sleeve, run a ring of clear finger nail polish around a couple of threads, the snug the sleeve back down. The cable can be a little stiff compared to others, but not a problem. They'll still bend easy enough to patch pedals together with no effort. If you have your pedals on the floor, not on a board, your pedals won't move under the cable tension unless your using an extremely light-weight plastic pedal. I've found that a lot of people believe that if it's low cost, it's cheap. Some people want to bash products simply because of name/no-name or simply because the product isn't "main stream" or "Steve Vai, EVH, Satriani, etc. doesn't use it". If you're reading this, you're probably not Steve Vai, EVH or Joe Satriani anyway. When you consider the cost of the cable, an additional 2 minutes to apply finger nail polish to the sleeve threads, a GREAT buy! But if you are a tone purist, buy one of these and as well as a $20 patch cable. Try them out and return the one you don't like. My guess is that you won't be able to tell them apart and you'll keep this one.

Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled Tweed 6 In ( Good stuff at a great price)

By kenneth white

from R.I.

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

I bought the 6" and the only reason I only gave them 4 stars is the cable is only 4.2" between connectors. Which is fine for a pedal board that gets put together and left together but because of the tight bend in the short cable I don't beleive that they will stand up to bending back and forth a hundred times. As it stands right now they are silent and very nice for the price and if the cable gives me any problem I'll just solder in a new cable. The way I see it is I'm paying a few bucks for 2 connectors that can be used with any length cable I solder in. and a good 30 foot guitar cable can be cut up and turned into dozens of various custom length cables. You really can't beat these for such a low price and anyone who is getting noise should try cleaning their jacks with contact cleaner. I've had connection noises in the past from scum buildup in the jacks of a pedal and a Q-tip and contact cleaner fixs it right up. So give these a shot, buy a half dozen and see for yourself. I got the tweed and they are a sharp looking red. There are better cables and connectors out there but no where near this price! Tell your friends you payed 12.

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

My first thought was that I would make my own needed length cables by purchasing these just for the metal angled ends. I Previously had Livewire Straight end cables which take up way too much room. I didn't need the cable so I purchased the shortest ones that coasts the least amount of money. When I opened them up the wire was protected from shorting out with that heat shrink insulation which I'm sure is more cost effective. I didn't want to cut it away to see if the wire was cheap or if the solder job was nice. I plugged them all in to my pedals and they all worked flawlessly which was never the case with the livewires. there was always either a bad solder job or the tip was messed up rendering it useless.
The wire is flexible enough to fit nicely between pedals. No extra noise that I could hear.
In conclusion I would say these are great for the price, If you wanna spend a ridiculous amount on some other name brand or monoprice which is still pricier go ahead but if you have next to no money and a bunch of pedals go into the store and have your guy or gal order them for you because the internet is nice but if there is a store with people you like to talk music with once in a while just go in and buy something too.

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

I now have 10 of them. It's the only cable I buy. I wish my local GC had them in store. I always have to order them, but I like them so much that I'm willing to wait for them to come in. I've never had a problem with any of the 10 that I've purchased. I made a review last year about how much I like them and I still keep using them.

        Good but not perfect

        By Christopher Beard

        from Shaw SC

Comments about Musician's Gear Pedal Coupler Cable Angled:

Since this is my first coupler I have purchased I can't compare it to others. It does the job but one of the two that I purchased the input jacks face opposite directions. unfortunately this makes it very difficult to loop around to fit into another pedal. The other cable I purchased the jacks faced the same direction which made it easier to use.
