I purchased two of these cases. I am traveling the country in a 5th wheel trailer and needed something decent to store my guitars while traveling from place to place. I originally had a pair of soft sided cases, but they did not provide the protection I needed. These hard side cases are generic cases, not fitted for specific models. I have an Ibanez RG5EX1 and an ESP LTD H-330 and they both fit just fine. The interior of the case is covered in a soft black velour type of material. Not much in the way of padding, but the molded ABS plastic provides excellent case rigidity with no twist or flex. Ample support for the guitar neck with a pair of wraparound straps with Velcro that further aid in keeping the guitar from moving within the case.
Sturdy handle, lock with 2 keys, and three sets of chrome steel latches round out the hardware. There is no "hinged compartment" inside for hiding strings, winders, tuners, or tremolo arms, but there are two open cavities on either side of the neck for placing these items. What does this mean? Nothing, just FYI. When the lid goes closed and is latched, any small items in the case stay where you put them; they do not migrate inside the case. Regarding the price, the store applied a 10% military discount on my order. By the time the money was done changing hands I had a pair of sturdy, hard side, locking cases for almost the same price as a pair of soft case gig bags from Roadrunner.

I started playing guitar about 2 years ago and purchased some inexpensive guitars [ Squier Strat - Keith Urban Hard Body and Epiphone Limited Edition ] The Epiphone plays surprisingly well compared to the other two guitars which aren't bad so I decided to purchase a descent hard case to protect it . When I lay the Epiphone in the case between the thickness of the guitar body and the slant back of the guitar head the neck doesn't rest in the case cut out the guitar actually sits on the body and slant back guitar head and the neck is not in the neck cutout but instead it is suspended in the air so the only part touching the case is the guitar body and the very top of the slanted head . Solution is a deeper case with a more padded neck compartment . This design puts all the pressure on the top of the head and could very possibly crack the neck !! Now I put the Squier Strat in the case which has a much thinner body then the Epiphone, but the body sits so low in the case that the beginning of the neck hits the bottom of the neck compartment and holds the rest of the neck up off the case so now the guitar is sitting at a slant with the body of the guitar sitting in the case and the neck hitting the bottom of the neck compartment and the guitar ends up with the guitar neck and head not being supported but rather sitting up at and angle . Solution is a deeper and more padded neck compartment or put a piece of padding under the guitar body to level the guitar out so that the whole guitar neck is supported by the full length of the cases guitar neck compartment . The design of this case could actually damage certain guitars so make sure your guitar sits in there the way it should and is supported fully .

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

Nicely built case, great quality for the price. Pretty much the same as the $120 case. Bought it for a Charvel Dinky based on another review however it's not the best fit as the tuner at the end of the headstock lays on the bottom of the case. I folded a small towel the length of the neck support to prop the neck up a bit and raise the headstock from the surface of the case. It seems to be ok, the padding on top allows for the cover to close without forcing it down to close the latches. I would hesitate to go without the towel for fear of the neck snapping in the case of being dropped or crammed into a tight space. I'd say at this point I'd buy another for a Jackson/Charvel style guitar. Otherwise, inside and out, it's a real nice case with decent hardware, padding & lining.

This case is used for carrying my guitar. I like that it is black. I have not owned this case for very long so I can not complain about it yet.

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

Awesome case. Strong, fits a strat guitar well. Velcro neck strap is a plus. Much better than cases I've spent much more money on. Slight fit and finish issue with metal seam. However, still closes snuggly and tightly. Have to be looking for problems in order to notice it. Buy it! I would purchase one again for sure.

Comments about Musician's Gear MGMEG Molded ABS Electric Guitar Case:

What a really nice case - perhaps the cases that are double the price have a little more padding, but not much more. I will know that my guitar is well protected. It fits my American Strat perfectly, and the velco straps holds the guitar in place- very happy with my choice in cases.

I bought this for a new Danelectro 12 string based on several reviews I read here. Definitely not ATA, but adequate for storage, rehearsals and small venue gigs.
