I would agree with the others, and not try to play gigs out with these, but for a home studio, they work fine. I checked all the soldered connections on mine before rigging them out on my drum kit and saw no immediate issues. Remember, also, to check how well the cable stay is pinched onto the cable. If it's not, moving the cable around can break the soldered connections. If you can solder, then it's an easy fix. I bought (10) 20ft cables and (2) 30ft cables and have had no problems. They are clean and free of any noise. And as far as a Livewire brand, I do have a few speciality cables made by them and had a 1/4" splitter go bad right out of the box. This was unrepairable because the ends were molded onto the cable. Hence, if you can solder, get any cables you need that have unmolded ends so it can be repaired. The chances that the cable itself goes bad, unless physically damaged, is rare. I would buy these cables again, if the need arises.

I got several of these cables with a mic stage kit that looked like a great deal online. I soon discovered; however, that these cables are totally worthless. While the mics and stands were both passable, the cables just drove me insane. They are very low quality in every aspect. Sound quality is less optimal than with, say, a Livewire cable (which I use now) and they just don't hold up. Within literally two weeks I had one cable go out and the other was out within another week. After that, I went and bought 2 more because they are cheaper and like many people on a budget. Same thing. Finally I just went and bought a few Livewires and six months later have not had one go out, and, if they do, all I have to do is take them back to Guitar Center and they will replace them. End point, no matter your budget, don't settle for these cables. Save up for an extra week or two and get a $30-$40 cable that's replaceable and better made.

Excellent Patch Cables

By Paul

from Elyria, OH

I only needed short patch cables to connect a wireless mic controller box to the sound board. These were the perfect solution. Although they were inexpensive, the quality of workmanship was excellent.

cheap & good

By Roberts Berkovics

from cary,nc

It's cheap and it's doing what it is supposed to do. I use it to connect condenser mic SM48-LC to audio interface tascam-200 at home. Do not have any problem.

They are alright

By DARRIN LANDROCHE

They don't produce the best sound out there. Do yourself a favor, and pay a little more for one that will give a good sound.

They're fine cables

By Keith Pickering-Walters

from Livermore, CA

There have been some negative reviews of these cables on this site, but I'm not sure why they had such issues with them. I use several of these (I have two 15', two 20', a 30', and six or so 6') in a High School Video Productions and Studio Broadcast Productions classroom. My students take them out and shoot on location, they use them with our boom pole and a Rode Video Mic, we use them as patch cables between wired lav. mics and our stage snake, and directly connected to our mixer and/or computers. I've never had one die, short out, fray, or cut out. It's a cable! I have a couple of other brands (more expensive) mixed into our supplies and they've worked equally as well as them. For the price of these, it was great to be able to stretch our donations to be able to purchase more rather than just ones in fancy packaging.

Never buy these cables!!!!!!

By Dan Kritner

I owned one of these for 3 months and it started to short out on me and I treated it well. I wouldn't recomend this cable to even my mortal enemies.
