I bought this for my son to use when practicing guitar. It is a great/sturdy stand, and holds books/sheet music well. While the feet do fold down, it is NOT great for folding up/traveling...but that's not what we bought it for. Overall, a very good stand and for the $ you can't beat it!

Good stand, but there are a few problems. 1) Even folded, it is still pretty big and cumbersome. The top part doesn't fold at all, and it takes too much time an effort for it to be practical to remove the top from the bottom every time, so essentially all you can do is shorten the bottom part and fold in the legs. 2) I literally needed an engineer to help - my section leader - before I could figure out how to put it together.

Great Stand - Great Value

By DOUGLAS

from Modesto, CA

Bought this to use at home and church. Very adjustable, sturdy, and stable. Not as compact as the cheaper fold up models, but, much better to use. Like it very much, would buy again and recommend to friends. More of a professional model.

Bad QC.

By Steve

from 45 miles away from a GC store

Had to drill a hole in the extension pole to be able to attach the shelf. I guess this one left China or wherever without being checked. Oh yeah, then one of the two rivets broke the first time I went to adjust it. Giving it two stars only because the tripod base seems pretty sturdy.

Not as convenient as it seems.

By Matthew

from Beaverton, OR

This stand is basically a tripod mic stand with a music stand tray attached to the top. It's fairly sturdy, but I certainly wouldn't call it heavy-duty. What disappointed me most about this stand is that the feature it touts is that it "folds up for compact storage and transport", yet is more difficult to assemble/disassemble than the far more rugged Musician's Gear Deluxe Conductor Music Stand... which doesn't advertise it's fold-ability. To contrast the two, this stand requires completely removing two bolts and wing nuts in order to remove the tray, whereas with the other slightly more expensive model all you have to do is loosen a screw. Not that it would always be necessary to remove the tray, but sometimes it's easier to transport or store the stand with the tray removed. I mention the deluxe conductor version mainly because I frequently see it on sale far as cheap or cheaper than this unit.

Great Stand

By CHRIS NAPIER

from Largo, Fl

Pros: It is exactly what I expected. Heavy duty metal. Holds book & several sheets without falling. Very stable. Easy to assemble. Cons: Not great for traveling, but it was not what it was made for. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wearable, stable stand.

As promised

By Libby Estes

from Huntsville, Alabama

I ordered the music stand for my 11 year old son to be delivered to the store for pick-up. It was on sale and as promised in function. It is fine for his needs. It arrived in a few days. I received an e-mail alerting me to the arrival. This is my second purchase from the Guitar Center. The staff has been wonderfully helpful and has stayed in touch in a nice, but not pushy way. I appreciated the after-purchase contact I received. Now, if they could only make the flute and ukelele playing coming from my sons sound melodic. That would be superior customer service.

Sturdy and useful

By ROSEMARY LAMBIN

from Chicago, IL

I couldn't find any instructions, but it was pretty easy to figure out how to assemble the stand. It is sturdy enough to support my bigger guitar books. Now that I have a music stand, I can practice with my music in front of me, rather than putting the music on my desk and having to look down at it. When I'm not using the stand, I fold down the legs and store it next to my dresser.

Not a Folding Stand

By Connie Francis

from Maple Plain

It is true the legs fold but that is it. Also, there were no directions in the box of how to assemble the stand. This is not a compact stand. Very disappointed.

Great value...Great service

By Gene Gaster

from Madison, Ohio

I had a flimsy music stand that I threw away the instant that this quality stand arrived. Well constructed and I was amazed at the price and dealing with Guitar Center was a pleasure and I will use them for any future purchases. Thank you.
