These stands are OK for the money, but the picture on the website for these stands did NOT represent what I received when I purchased them online. The GC advertised picture show the cradle attachment as connected/inserted in to a front-mounted connector piece. What I received did not have this feature, but instead a couple of holes in the stand to insert the cradle pin into. A front-mounted connector serves 1, to provide a better angle of stability and clearance, 2. Allows the sliding portion of the stand to adjust all the way to the ground for smaller stringed instruments, and 3. It's simply easier to insert the cradle pin into the front-mounted connector rather than syncing the cradle pin through two holes in the stand. Yes, they smelled bad, kind of toxic. But they didn't break for the brief time I had my guitars in them and I did not notice any damage to the guitar finishes. Needless to say, I returned these and purchased some Ultra 2445 black stands from somewhere else, as these have been reliable for many years. Had the picture on the Guitar Center website accurately represented the product, I never would have purchased these in the first place.

VERY VERY NICE

By Lucas

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

It is very good and stirdy. But one thing is you can't leave a heavy Guitar or Bass etc, because it will start to bent the foam overlaping the metal. But other than that you are good to go. Hopefully that helped...:]

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

I couldn't believe the price was for 2 of these stands! I got them today after only about 3 days, unbelievably fast service, and they are perfect, easy to put together and very sturdy. What a great deal!

Ok product for the money

By Richb

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

These stands seem to be ok and the fact you get 2 of them for this price is a pretty good incentive however, just know that they're from China. Yeah a lot of stuff is from China but the foam used in these is very Chinese. What I mean by that is it reeks, just reeks. From the moment you open the package you're hit with a very strong chemical smell that is wafting out of the foam they use. There has to be toxic waste used in it. Each stand comes with a label warning you not to use them with Nitrocellulose finished guitars as it may cause fading/marring of the finish. Not many guitars are nitro finished these days but just know that fact. We put them out in the garage for 2 days to "air out" then brought them inside the house/put them to use.

Can't beat the price but...

By alan mackillop

from San Diego CA

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

Great price, but like most stands, they use foam that has a bad reaction with nitrocellulose finishes, which always makes me wonder why they can't find an alternative. For this price though, I just remove the foam and replace it with some rubber tubing from the hardware store and chemical reaction problems are solved for a couple more dollars.

Amazing, high quality stands at a great price

By Najji

from Portland, OR

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

I was incredibly surprised to find such a good deal on two top class stands. I only own 2 guitars so far so this deal was for me; plus I got free shipping with the december 2010 free shipping holiday code, HOLSHP43. The stands look like what you would see show-casing guitars on the floor in a guitar shop and are incredibly strong. The cheapest stands at my local GC are $20 a piece and the cheapest stands at another local guitar shop near me are $12 a piece. I would totally recommend this pack to all. I will buy more or similar ones in the future.

Easy to use, and does the job for a fraction of the cost!

By Lori Zeman

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

As a beginner, I looked at several stands and found these at an incredible price. Was leery of there possibly being a chemical smell to them because I am sensitive to that, (causing headaches, etc.), but was very relieved to find that straight out of the packaging there was no odor to speak of at all. They are handy in that they're adjustable and they are sturdy too. My eight year old daughter was quite pleased to have a reliable place to set her guitar so that it is safe, but close at hand for practice! We were very pleased with this purchase from Guitar Center.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

Tip of the hat, I called in a order & thought I would check these out because of the reviews. I would agree 100% this is a GREAT Deal ~ They Look nice,Easy rip down ,Set~up with a good snap in place when you lock the legs,Real NICE Adjustment in heigth for people that play nothin but bass (would recommend to them people also)& Still leans Back just enough as you would like. There not like the old school cheap stands that where 90 dagree straight up & down. On top of all that there the locking strap back in the day we had to buy these seperate when they came out (lol Showing my age here) They stagger real well also saving room for being the 1st~2nd band of the night out of 4 when you have no room for your 7 rack. After the holiday season I will be ordering 2~3 more pairs to replace some older stands I still have....No need to read anymore just add them to your cart But mind the warnings mention on other posts ~ But the % of that warning effecting modern guitars is Close to 0% .... I have been playing since 1984 & only have one guitar that this pertains to...Slow & steady leads to Sweeps Happy playing E1 T.S.Scultz

Disappointing

By Jacqueline

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (2-Pack):

I ordered these on Black Friday, but not needing them until now, didn't actually open the box for over a month after its arrival. First mistake, I should have checked the contents when it arrived. Actually second mistake – somehow my order got screwed up. I thought I ordered 2 guitar sands and 8 wall hooks. I didn't notice at the time, but apparently the wall hooks were not processed on my order (not blaming GC, this was my fault for being in a hurry and not checking). Instead, I received 8 stands, no hooks. Called customer service and they were very nice, telling me I could still return the extra stands I had not meant to order. So I was packing up the 6 stands I was going to take back, when I decided to set up the ones I was keeping. When I put the first one together, I realized that the back leg is so short that it does not balance properly and the stand, without guitar, was barely able to stay up. When I put a light acoustic guitar on, it immediately tipped over backwards. So I guess I will be bringing them all back.

CHEAPLY CONSTRUCTED. THIN SKINNY TUBING AND A TOO SHORT REAR SUPPORT LEG WHICH MAKES IT NOT VERY STABLE ON CARPETING. ON HARDWOOD FLOORING IT SHOULD BE FINE BUT BE CAREFUL ON CARPETING IT COULD TIP IF BUMPED OR IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL PUTTING IT IN THE STAND.

I'm a beginner just learning at home. I have an electric and acoustic guitar so I bought the two pack. The stands seem stable enough to store my instruments at home when I'm not using them. Nothing exciting but they do what they are supposed to do. Not sure how good they would be out at a gig with people bumping into them but for inexpensive storage at home these can't be beat.
