I used t use Ernie Ball when I first started playing 35 years ago. Switched to playing exclusively GHS about 10 years after that. But I switched to Musicians Gear strings approx 8-9 years ago. I've come to the opinion that strings don't make a whole lot of difference to me. If you gig or record alot, you should change your strings a lot. And if you use more than one guitar at gigs, it can get expensive to re-string two guitars for every show. So for the price of these, you can't go wrong. These strings have been just as good as ANY more expensive name brand. And that's the beauty of it. Because they're inexpensive, it won't break your budget to change strings often. Which I do....and get a fresh bright sound more often than if I was more apt to leave the old/dull sounding strings on for "just one more gig"....because the name brands are $6. & up. Just my $.02...Rock On!

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

These strings are pretty good! I don't know if I would say that they are as good as Ernie Balls but they are really close. They sound surprisingly great and last long as well! I use them as an emergency pair and they always come through for me! Good product, even better price.

Wow! These are good strings!!

By Philip McLeran

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

Ok folks, I bought several sets of these NPS (nickel plated Steel) strings because I fix, set intonation, and sell guitars that need minor repairing. I like to put new strings on the guitars before selling them, but that is a cost that does add up. So I bought some of these NPS just for hoots to check out, and put on my guitars. Well...I am more than impressed! They sound...dare I say it....really good!! I am serious, I have paid $4, $5, & $6 for sets of strings that do not sound better, and are sold by 'big' name brands. I have played guitar seriously for 36 years and used and tested many a brand. These have a very nice warm sound to them!! Out of 14 sets I've installed on various electrics, only 1 high E string snapped during installation. These strings are a hidden GC secret!! Or, maybe I'm the last one to find out! But for $1.99..... wow!! I am stocking up!!

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

These strings are great. With 18 guitars, I started using them for economic reasons, but found them to be just as good as any others I have tried. The only trouble I have ever had is the small E string sometimes slips, but if you double them over, then they hold just fine.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

These strings are a bargain. I use these strings regularly and everything about them is as good as others I've used (I've used many other common brands), except that I have had a few high E breakages - not enough yet to say they are worse than others, but I've had some breakages (I'm using .009). I will use regularly and gig with. They are good enough for me to considered them "the strings I use". I just bought a year's supply.
