Like many of the other reviewers, I bough these strings because they're cheap, and for the 3 higher strings, absolutely worth it. For the lowest string, however, I couldn't get it to tune to E, but only to a dropped D. I ordered two sets and I haven't tried the second set to see if I can get it to E yet, so it may just be a matter of quality control.

Just what I needed

By Joseph Liggio

from Suffern, NY

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I picked up a late 60's department store violin bass recently, and wanted to restore it on the cheap. I'm really a guitar player at heart, and don't know too much about bass tones, but for me this fits the bill perfectly. They sound great so far, with me playing mostly 60's and 70's rock oriented stuff. And hey, they may be "crafted" in China, but from "the finest U.S. steel", HA! :D So if you need some cheap bass strings with some, (IMO), pretty good sound, look no further.

Fresh strings have become a staple of my tone, these allow me to change strings every 8-10 gigs to keep that new string sound. Hard to believe the price, I highly recommend these!

Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Bass Strings Great strings for the money

        By Jim Beltz

        from South Hutchinson Kansas

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I bought these origonaly just because they where a budget minded Bass string. but found out they sound and play as good as the expensive Bass strings and honestly sound a lot better than most. I was playing with a friend and he couldn't believe how well they sounded compared to his fender strings. i would highly recomend them to anyone thats on a budget or practices a lot.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I?m not going to lie. I bought these because they were cheap, plain and simple. They actually sound great. I have even had people say they like the sound and ask me about them. What else can you ask for? I like the sound, other people like the sound, they record well, and they?re cheap.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

Bought these as cheap student strings.. However..they are good sounding..nicely made..excellent for the price. Actually I prefer these to some quite a bit more expensive strings. At this price..it is affordable for student to change them more often and always have a good sounding bass..

        Great Price and Value

        By PATRICK FAY

        from Alexandria KY

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I use my bass for home recording. Considering the price these are great strings. Like I said I only use the bass for recording and have only had them on for a month, so I don't know how well they will hold out for serious live gigging. I'm satisfied
