I purchased this stand about a year ago looking for something cheap, considering i was just needing a stand asap after the purchase of a new condenser mic. It held up nice for about 6 months, but now the boom piece of the stand just comes off...? I don't know why or how but apparently it can't withstand the weight of the microphone. The fasteners the hold the mic at the height and dimensions you want it, just aren't up to par in general. This product is good if you need something in the meantime for saving up for a nicer stand. Believe it or not i would recommend this in that case.(only in that case)
I just started a band recently and we got going on buying gear for gigs. We got a straight up and down regular mic stand and I hated it because I kept hitting it with my guitar. These mic stands are perfect for the price, they do have fixed boom so make sure you don't forget and try to move them while tightened. But they are a good buy.
These stands have worked wonders for me. They're very adjustable and hold my mics in the perfect place. I use them for a home recording studio. If you need to stands for recording purposes, i'd definitely advise you to buy them. I wouldn't really use them for other types of activities such as outdoor gigs etc. They are very light so i would keep it indoors
