  After reading reviews (pro/con), I decided to take a gamble and bought 3 of them. I figured...why not?? GC is on my way to/from work so if I didn't like them, I could easily return them. I now own 8 of them. I have not experienced any tone loss at all and, while practicing in the basement with fluorescent lighting, no noise. I've purchased the tweed 6" and 12". The actual color of the cables that I've received are different than pictured, and I view that as a good thing. Mine are red with blue instead of the black with red that is pictured. Like some of the others, I've noticed that the connector sleeve comes loose. If you're the type of person who patches their pedals/pedal board and never touches them, just give the sleeve a good firm twist and plug in. If you find that you're the type who's constantly moving gear around, you might want to partially unscrew the sleeve, run a ring of clear finger nail polish around a couple of threads, the snug the sleeve back down. The cable can be a little stiff compared to others, but not a problem. They'll still bend easy enough to patch pedals together with no effort. If you have your pedals on the floor, not on a board, your pedals won't move under the cable tension unless your using an extremely light-weight plastic pedal. I've found that a lot of people believe that if it's low cost, it's cheap. Some people want to bash products simply because of name/no-name or simply because the product isn't "main stream" or "Steve Vai, EVH, Satriani, etc. doesn't use it". If you're reading this, you're probably not Steve Vai, EVH or Joe Satriani anyway. When you consider the cost of the cable, an additional 2 minutes to apply finger nail polish to the sleeve threads, a GREAT buy! But if you are a tone purist, buy one of these and as well as a $20 patch cable. Try them out and return the one you don't like. My guess is that you won't be able to tell them apart and you'll keep this one.

  I got a 6" to connect pedals. Works fine and I love the price. The connectors seem well made. It's good enough for me and the price certainly didn't hurt.

• I am back with bad news!

  I have had this patch coupler cable since Christmas and I just noticed that it has changed the tone and the output of my bass. Plus there was static too. So I took that cable out from one of my pedals from my pedal board and noticed a difference. I would not recommend it to anyone. You will be better of getting a Mogami Cable or a Hosa Patch/Coupler Cable instead.
