Folds up for compact storage and transport.
Good stand, but there are a few problems. 1) Even folded, it is still pretty big and cumbersome. The top part doesn't fold at all, and it takes too much time an effort for it to be practical to remove the top from the bottom every time, so essentially all you can do is shorten the bottom part and fold in the legs. 2) I literally needed an engineer to help - my section leader - before I could figure out how to put it together.

I didn't need anything extreme, just a simple music stand. This was perfect.

This stand was everything that I needed. The stand is practical for my needs, and is durable because of its ability to hold large music books. Being a trumpet player, one problem encountered with the old basic folding music stand, was the ability to hold large books such as Arban's or The Real Book which both are large. Furthermore, I would recommend this stand to anyone. There is only one problem and that is the stand is somewhat awkward to assemble but simple. This stand is clearly the best value on the dollar.

Although it is not totally compact, this is a fantastic stand to use for your practicing! Height adjustments allow for standing or sitting, and the table tilts for optimum viewing. Very easy to put together (even with an injured arm). I recommend it for practice, but not to travel with.

not sure why anyone would pay more for a stand. This one works just fine and is cheap.
