This is a nice heavy bench. It came with a little wrench to help you bolt the legs on. No instructions, but I think we all know where they go, right? Sturdy rod for the adjustment, which does so smoothly. I got this for my sister to go with her Williams digital Grand. Sort of matches the legs of the piano, just scaled down. Yes, it has maybe room for two books, maybe. She wanted a bench, not a bookshelf. I weigh 350 pounds and if I wiggle around on it, it hardly sways at all. Very solid, would recommend for anyone I know that plays.
This bench is very nice looking and well made. Height adjustment is just a simple turn of the knob. The tufted seat is elegant and comfortable. Storage space is minimal at about only an inch deep, but other than that, we are very happy with our purchase.
The bench itself is great -- padded, comfortable and good looking. But if they went to the trouble of building it so it'd open for internal storage, couldn't they have given it more than one inch of depth to store music books, etc? It's such a thick seat but without any room for real storage, beyond maybe 100 sheets or 1 or 2 music books. Kind of ridiculous. Still, it's comfortable and works, hence the 3 stars.
