Even cooler without the frets.

Few fretless electric basses are as flat-out cool or have as much powerful tone as the Music Man StingRay. Introduced in 1976, the StingRay was the first bass guitar to feature active electronics and advancements such as a 6-bolt neck joint, contoured body, superior neck truss-rod system, and rock-solid bridge, all of which keep it on top of the pack. The StingRay is constructed with a select hardwood body, maple neck, Schaller BM tuners, 2-band active EQ, and a MusicMan humbucking pickup.

Music Man Stingray Unlined Fretless Bass Features:

  • Massive humbucker pickups on bridge
    Fretless, unlined fingerboard
    2-band active EQ
    Select hardwood body
    Maple neck
    Schaller BM tapered-post tuners
    Volume, treble, bass controls

  • Very Nice

As reviewed by Billy Bass on 6/18/2008

Played many bass guitars in my time. The Sting Ray frettless very nice and smooth no clanks or rings nice low bottom very easy to use without the frets.just a little practice needed then your dead on.I strongly recomend it will take your Bass playing to next level. The price is good for the quality of the guitar. Thanks to Ernie Ball.PS you will need to get flat wound strings if you like to keep a nice fret board.

  • Sweeeet

As reviewed by Chris Buzzard on 11/7/2008

I recieved my order, and was very pleased with the immediate playability of the Stingray. It has been hard to put it down. The action is superb, from the headstock to the body. The rosewood fingerboard is beautiful, as well as very functional. It allows for a smooth slide from the first fret, all the way down the neck, without loosing any tone quality. I would definately recommend this bass to any enthusiast Very satisfied. Buzzy
