As reviewed by Rodger on 7/15/2010

i own 2 axix supersports one all rosewood the other orange flametop with a heavely birdseye maple neck a signiture jps with piezio a sillouette special and know the steve moorse y2d. This guitar as the others is unique in its sound and versitile for what ever music you enjoy playing . Truth be told this is truely a rock or metal players dream. It arrived exactly as it was pictured on the website and set up was dead on along with a gorgous finish no flaws . The sound .It has a five way which is used in conjunction with four pickups for a variety of tones. The first threw third position are warm yet pending on your style can get pinch harmonics and really make this bad boy scream. The last two i consider solo or lead positions which don;t dissapoint. The fretboard is rosewood with locking tuners up top .I love the feel of the back of these guitars all wood no lacquer which allows you to really cruise up and down the neck with ease. Pending what you play threw . I went threw a peavey classic 50 head a vox night train a carvin v3100 and a rebel 20 threw marshall cabs egnators cabs and b52 cabs all full stacks this guitar could melt the paint off the wall. Also a very quiet guitar . Excellent job shielding no hum here.Even switching positions quiet as a mouse. overall like all musicman guitars ;pure quality in all areas i;ve never been dissappointed with any i own and don;t expect to be with this. Its a great guitar priced right. Its not a one trick poney. A great value with a lot of kick.If you ever thought about buying a musicman this is a great start . unique like all of them. Definitely built well including a clear pick guard . It was heavier then i expected but the sustain is great. This is the hardtail version. To me save the floyds for the superstrats like charvels kramers ect.All i can say in ending is you won;t be dissapointed in this guitar or any musicman they are all quality at a reasonable price for a usa made shredmonster.

  • all around amazing

As reviewed by Anthony on 3/16/2011

i went into guitar center looking for an ibanez s5470 and they didn't have it. it was a drive to the store and i didn't want to leave empty handed. i played multiple guitars for a span of 2 hours and this guitar was the last one i picked up. it was love at first strum. this guitar is so versatile. it has a very fast neck, awesome action, the pickups are amazing. the sustain on this guitar is incredible. no matter your playing style, this guitar does it all. the y2d steve morse also looks cool as hell and is unique. the second you hold this guitar, you know it's meant to be. in my opinion... it's a best buy.
