  • Fantastic Guitar

As reviewed by mth619 on 10/24/2006

This is a fantastic guitar. I recently had a Feiten system and set-up done by a local tech who builds custom guitars by hand. Even he was impressed with the quality of this guitar. The neck, as with all MM guitars, is one of the nicest feeling necks around. I have the action set very low and even after 5 years of constant playing, I get no buzz from the frets. The two downsides to the guitar are the EMGs and the bridge system. The EMGs are really just a personal preference - they sound incredible, but I would prefer a passive system. The bridge system will definitely go out of tune if you mess with it, despite the locking tuners. You really need to install a tremsetter to correct the problem. I would say the bridge goes out of tune a little more often than a Floyd Rose system does. It's not worth the aggravation of the Floyd Rose system to put it on this guitar. In summary, this is a high-quality instrument without the ridiculous price of a PRS, Gibson, Ibanez Prestige/Artist Models, etc. The quality is equal, if not better, than these models.

  • Well rounded guitar!

As reviewed by NZRich on 4/6/2007

I purchased the Music Man Luke a few weeks ago. One thing that struck me immediately whilst playing in the store was the incredible tone flexability. I was originally looking at a Gibson Studio model (which was about ? the price of the MM), my buddy suggested trying this as a comparison. After 5mins of playing, the MM Luke stood out as a much more versatile performer. I?m playing through a Vox AD50VT, all purchased through Guitar Center and they gave me a great deal. The combo with the Vox gives an excellent sound capabilities, from a clean warm Fender sound to the Gibson ?crunch?. The EMG pickups are some of the best around. I play a wide variety of music and if you?re looking for a guitar that has the build quality of guitars 2-3 times the expense with great tone flexibility, you should check this guitar out.

  • Great guitar

As reviewed by BFahz on 7/5/2006

Just got this guitar. I had pretty much an unlimited budget, so I could have had any guitar. Once I played this guitar, I was sold. The neck rocks. The pickup config is great. This compliments my Fender Texas Select Start perfectly.
