A distinctive signature model with piezo floating tremolo and dual humbuckers.

"The Majesty guitar symbolizes the very reason why I am so proud to be a Music Man artist. I had the idea for this guitar a couple of years ago but it is because of their innovative spirit and dedication to the art of guitar building that it is now a reality. I am so grateful that I am able to collaborate with the best guitar company on the planet and so incredibly proud that together we have created what is to me, the perfect musical instrument for guitar players. I really hope you get a chance to play one and am confident that you will feel the same!" - John Petrucci

  • Best Metal Guitar?

As reviewed by Greg on 7/7/2014

Its hard to give anything a perfect rating. No matter how wonderful any instrument is, you can always find room for improvement. This guitar is closer to perfection than any other instrument I have ever played. That being said, its not for everyone. The looks are striking. The pictures do not do it justice. On a computer screen it looks like a toy but when you see it in real life it is incredible. That being said, if there is anything I am on the fence about with this guitar, it?s the looks. It may be too flashy but then again the band I play for is very flashy, so it fits in perfectly. On stage the mirror inlays reflect all of the colored lights, the stainless steel frets pop and the blue paint sparkles like nothing else. It is incredible to look at, just not for everyone. Getting to the feel of this guitar, it feels wonderful. The fretboard is perfect. The neck is just right for me. The controls are located well but the pickup selector may be easily bumped if you are not careful. The cutaways are extra deep so you can access all the frets with ease. The neck through construction means there is no clunky joint where the neck meets the body. The Basswood makes the guitar unbelievably light. The contours of the body fit perfectly. This is a very comfortable guitar. The locking tuners are great, the bridge is very solid for a floating trem. You can whammy the crap out of this thing without losing your tuning. (My one complaint about the bridge is EBMM does not give you a tool to adjust the intonation nor do they have any documentation spelling it out. FYI it is a 5/64th alan key.) The pickups sound incredible. The clean tones are piano like, very clear and rich. This guitar has great clarity with distorted tones. Each string can be heard when playing a chord across all 7 strings. The sustain is killer. I have not experienced a guitar with a floating bridge that has this much sustain. The piezo pickups in the bridge have the depth you would expect, I do not like the EQ adjustment on the back of the guitar however. You need a screw driver to adjust the piezo EQ and EBMM does not provide a screw driver with the guitar. The rest of the features work as advertised. The guitar sounds incredible. I cannot get over it. Everything is clear and has great depth. I have it tuned to drop Ab with .011 strings and there is no muddiness that I experience with other 7 string guitars. This guitar produces excellent metal and hard rock tones as well as very clear and rich clean tones. There is more that can be said about this instrument but I am going to wrap it up. It is great. If the looks work for you and you play hard rock or metal, this is probably the best mass produced guitar available. I thought nothing could beat the old JP signature model, this somehow pulls it off.
