Continuing the tremendous success of the JPX, Ernie Ball Music Man introduces the latest evolution in the John Petrucci line of signature guitars. The JPXI is the newest collaborative effort between John Petrucci and the Music Man research and development team.
The John Petrucci JPXI-7 7-String Electric Guitar features a combination of top appointments from JPX and BFR Petrucci signature instruments. Most notably, the JPXI neck has been streamlined to a symmetric, extra slim profile featuring a flatter 20" radius, medium jumbo stainless steel frets with a finished mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard.
Combined with a solid alder body, mahogany tone block and maple top, the JPXI has become the ultimate rock machine.
Similar to that of the JP BFR line, controls include two three-way toggles perfectly wired for the Custom Dimarzio LiquiFire and Crunch Lab humbuckers, in addition to a redesigned Wide-Spread Pivot tremolo with a Music Man/Fishman piezo system bridge pickup.
The JPXI guitar is adorned with chrome hardware, mother of pearl inlays and a new onyx finish.

this is by far one of the best 7's iv ever played.
First off the pickups they are perfect for modern day playing. people such as Misha Mansoor, Lee Mckinny,Liam Engl and many more use this set up. the Crunch lab is very brutal when plugged into a high gain amp. the Liquidfire as its names says is very liquid like when you play a fast arpeggio or whatever. now the neck: the neck is pretty slim its almost as slim as an Ibanez 1527 neck. but still plays very nicely. has an ebony fretboard and my god it looks so nice sounds great and its perfectly balanced with all the tone woods in it. Now don't forget it has Piezo saddles so u get that very legendary tone John gets in the studio when he dose clean tracks. the middle switch on the toggle knob is best for the cleans. sounds very magical depending on the amp you have. overall this guitar is worth buying if you want an all round work horse that dose what you want when you want and how you want. id recommend this to anyone seeking a great 7 string that does everything with style and over all quality.
This guitar is simply amazing! The sound is great, a bit darker than my other JP-6 guitar, but the playability is much higher: thin neck with small curvature, very good frets. It sounds great even without amp! Compared with an Ibanez UV777 the JPXI wins over all aspects.
The quality of the guitar is excellent.
The best 7-string I ever played.
