The JPXI-6 is the newest collaborative effort between John Petrucci and the Music Man R&D team. The JPXI features a combination of top appointments from JPX and BFR Petrucci signature instruments. Most notably, the JPXI neck has been streamlined to a symmetric, extra slim profile featuring a flatter 20" radius, medium jumbo stainless steel frets with a finished mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard. This, combined with the non-chambered body, mahogany Tone Block and maple top, has become the ultimate rock machine! The controls are similar to that of the JP BFR line, with 2 three way toggles perfectly wired for the Custom Dimarzio LiquiFire and Crunch Lab humbuckers, as well as the Piezo bridge pickup. The JPXI-6 is adorned with chrome hardware, Mother of Pearl inlays and a new Onyx finish.

I got a JPX w/ the roasted maple neck b/c the first JPX I got, the neck was extrememly sensitive to the slightest changes of humidity. I hope they worked the kinks out on this one. Other than that, I actually like this one a lot more! Surprisingly easier playability w/ the new radius, and the BFR and piezo are still awesome. I'd highly recommend this one over the JPX or any other JP model. Only bummer is the one year warranty from EBMM so I'd recommend that 3 year GC Protection Plan.
This is an amazing guitar and for the price you can't beat it.The stainless steel frets are a great addition (very slick and easy to move around).The pickups are liquid fir and crunch lab are the best combination i have ever played very balanced and compliment each other very well.The onyx finish is awesome.The neck is very easy to play compared to the standard model which i also own.This guitar blows my fender deluxe,gibson studio ibanez rg out of the water hand down.
This guitar plays like a dream. The action is so low that the set of 10's feels like 9's. Stays in tune well and changing strings is a breeze. The magnetic and piezo pickup sound great for any style of music. The trem system works just like a locking nut would. Buy this guitar!!!
