The Music Man John Petrucci 6 Electric Guitar has a maple neck featuring an adjustable truss rod and 5-bolt mounting to the basswood body for perfect alignment and no slipping. This Music Man guitar has a sculpted neck joint allows free access to upper frets. Its rosewood fretboard has 24 wide, high-profile frets. Schaller locking tuners and custom John Petrucci tremolo complete the hardware. 2 Custom DiMarzio humbucking pickups were specially designed for Petrucci. 3-way selector has a custom center-position configuration.
I play the 6 string model, no piezo. I LOVE this guitar, its fast, clean, and plays PERFECTLY to te top fret. I wish it had a little more sting in the 1st postion pick up, but I love the overall sound of the guitar. Its beautiful to look at, and the size is perfect in your hands. 100 % the best guitar Ive ever played.

The perfect shredder. Flat radius fingerboard plays great. Workmanship is incredible, Flawless! Pickups are perfectly voiced for this guitar. Guitar is exceptionally light and plays like butter. I never thought I would find something I like more than my custom shop Jackson Soloist. Tough act to follow.

This guitar is very light. The neck is very smooth and has a great feel to it. The action is very low. You can get great harmonics out of the Petrucci custom DiMarzio pickups. There's 24 frets and its very comfortable to play on the higher frets. The bridge always stays in tune and doesn't require you to lock down the strings on the headstock side like a floyd rose. That becomes a pain when you want to use different tuning.

After several failed attempts to buy a JPM100 at E-Bay, I decided to get this one back in 05, after all JP was the one who made me come back and play guitar again. I researched for all the options, and found out that I was drooling for a Mystic Dream, matching headstock, Piezo, and of course JP bullet inlays. Off I go to GC and they don't stock this one. I asked one guy to help, and he seemed to can't find inventory in any of the stores. He said, he would look further and give me a call in a week's time. No Calls. I decided to call another store and there I go, Ordered it and I was so excited when it arrived. Comes with a very nice hardshell case. The neck came with Bird's eye neck maple, much more exotic than my Wolfgang. Neck is thin and superfast. Locking tuners and JP Tremolo kept in tuned during dive bombs. The piezo was awesome on the clean channel. Mystic dream changes to purple and green at different angles. If you are going to score this guitar better get it in this color, you'll love it. Saw DT last year and JP's MD looks awesome onstage with all the lights coming from different direction. Mind you, you can't appreciate this guitar unless you have a high gain amp. Mind sounds sweet on the 10th fret. It gives out a liquid sustain when you hit it. Hope GC will have the new version with the sonic PU and quilted top in stock.

I purchased this guitar at Guitar Center after playing many guitars. I was also considering a Peavey HP CT Special USA but after playing this guitar my mind was made up. The neck is awesome (very similar to the Peavey) and the piezo pickup provides soooo many tonal options there are hours of fun ahead. The tremelo uses locking tuners rather than a locking nut which makes changing the stings much simpler than with a Floyd Rose. The action is VERY low and this thing is very easy to play. The guitar is very comfortable to play (a huge benefit over the Peavey HP which seemd to cut into my forearm). Overall this is a great guitar!!!
