The be all and end all for metal wah pedals. Period.

By J-DUB

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah Pedal:

Forget all the fancy paintjobs and costly endorsements of the Dunlop signature lines of wah pedals. None of them stand a chance against the original Bad Horsie Wah. Developed by Steve Vai this pedal is made for high gain shredding. The samples on this site don't do it justice. On top of the sound the switchless use is amazing. No more slamming down to activate your wah or awkward transitions. This pedal is pefect in every sense. If you are looking for a more funk or classic rock wah, go with a Vox 845A. If you play metal and hardcore, this is your wah. End of story.

Keeping your tone the way you want it!

By Shawn Walsh

from Houston, TX

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah Pedal:

The Bad Horsie is the best wah created. Not only good for it's switchless system but for it's simple action. When you let off the wah your sound that you created comes back too life instantly. I will never goto the Bad Horsie 2. It has too many moving parts that can go wrong. Sweeping knobs and switches all can get dirty and effect your sound. For all you tube driven guitarist the bad horsie 1 is for you.

Awesome Wah

By EWD

from Dallas

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah Pedal:

I've heard this wah pedal many times, here on the guitar center website, in the song Bad Horsie, and on other videos on Youtube. It sounds awesome! And the major thing is there's no switch, you step on it to turn it on, and step off it to turn it off! The sound is great, you can get over the top modern sounds that sound great with high gain distortion, or you can get a clean sound and get a very bluesy/soulfull sound of it. It's very versatile, sounds great, has a no-switch activation, and it's pretty low price for other wah pedals. 5/5

Like a Dream!

By Ramon

from San Diego California

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah Pedal:

One of the biggest complaints amoung wah users is the annoying trip to the toe portion of the wah you have to take just to engage the effect. Morley has long since solve that issue with their switchless optical system. It?s a joy to simply step on the pedal for the wah mode and step off to get out. It works like a dream. Not having to visit that shrill part of the sweep simple and is Morley?s big selling point. Soundwise, the Morley?s have always had their own non-vintage voice that has appealed to more modern-minded players. We?ve always felt Morleys were best for solo-heavy guys with it?s short sweep and ultra-fast response. You won?t get those deep mid-range ?wacka-wackas? of the Dunlops or Vox models, but rather a smooth ?wow-wow? which seems perfectly suited for quick frills and lightning quick excursions on the neck. We?d say the Bad Horsie is better for frills rather than funk.

Modern and High Quality Wah

By MildSeven

from CT

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah Pedal:

I feel that this pedal is unfairly criticized by fans of vintage wah pedals or other brands. The main feature is the switchless operation, but the tonality is very underrated. This pedal works very cleanly and doesn't add much of its own noise. The construction is solid, it is easy to use, although it lacks adjustability. If you are a player that is not interested in 'dirtying' your tone on purpose to sound vintage, this pedal is an excellent choice for your wah.

Bad Horsie the only Wah for the 21st century

By Steve

from Bklyn, NY

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie Wah Pedal:

The Bad Horsie is not your grandfather's Wah! This thing sounds great with a ton of gain or on a totally clean setting with some gorgeous reverb. You can sound as metal and in your face as Vai does when he's wailing or as full of soul as Jimi did with a gorgeous clean setting. Plus it bypasses as soon as you take your foot off of it!! No need to click it down hard just to turn it on or off! Fantastic job by Morley to eliminate one of the biggest pains about Wahs. If anything ever happened to my Bad Horsie I'd run right out and grab another one. No need for the old type of Wah design it's been improved upon!
