This is a very good wah. It features 2 modes. Bad horsie and contour mode. In the bad horsie mode you have the setting that steve vai likes. (Not that that will improve your playing.) And in contour mode you are able to alter contour or width of the wah and the level of the pedal blended with your sound. This feature makes it a versatile wah. You can use it for screaming shredding solos to a kind of classic rock kinda wah to a funky wah. The bypass is very good. In bypass you won't hear the slidest bit of noice. It's really quiet. The auto bypass mode is fantastic. When you take your foot off the pedal it immidiatly goes into bypass. This happens so fast you won't even hear it. The only disadvantage for people who like tho play with there wah in a certain position all the time will have a problem because when you take your foot off the pedal it bypasses. For that kinda stuff get a Dunlop wah. But the bad horsie is a modern wah. It is well constructed. The body is very strong and the pedal is anti slip. My only complaint is the place of the footswitch for the contour mode. When you locate this pedal on a pedalboard it can be hard to reach. Overall this is the best wah out there at this moment. Get one and you won't regret it.

Getting used to this pedal after using the Dunlop one that clicks in a bit tricky. There is a slight dead zone in the pedals movement before it's activated in comparison to just clicking the button and having it work at ANY angle.
The pedal really is better for rock and metal that anything else in my opinion, it had way more attack and bite to it.

It's fun to use, but it seems to be more focused in genre compatability then a regular wah.

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

i've used dunlop crybabys all my life but i just purchased the morley steve vai contour wha a couple months ago and it's great!!! the contour feature gives me my own exaggeration on the effect and even without using the contour, just the regular sound and range fits perfectly through my Vox AC-50 and my Peavy XXX. whether using it live or in the studio i've been 100%satisfied!

Awesome

By Daniel

from Powder Springs, GA

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

This is one of the best wah pedals I've played. I spent a long while researching before finally deciding on this bad boy....i mean..."Horsie". This wah is great because it acts more like a filter than a wah really. Plus it has the contour and level knobs so you can easily adjust the texture of the wah as well as how much of the effect cuts through. Then on top of that, it automatically goes into bypass when it's not being used. By far one of the greatest wahs available. I recommend it highly.

Modern Tone, Good Pedal

By MR. C

from PA

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

After owning this pedal for several years, its still going strong. The tone is a bit more modern compared directly to a Cry Baby, though not a drastic difference. As soon as you step on it, the pedal activates which is great. No button to click, and click again cause it didn't work the first time! Since the wah returns to the "up" position automatically, it is much easier to use. Traditional wah pedals take a bit more skill to master and accenting your notes takes more control. As far as the contour button, when engaged, your tone can be a little ear splitting. But there is a slight difference in the 2 modes. The Morley power adapter is a must unless you are using a pedal power 2 plus, or something with isolated outputs. This thing can be very noisy with a daisy chain. A low price, great reputation (Steve Vai), and ease of use make this pedal a good candidate if you are in the market for a WAH Pedal. The only draw back is the size which is on the wider side.

Morley Pedals Rock!!

By Mark

from Middletown, CT

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

I love eveything about this pedal. From the great looks to it's awesome playability. The step on step off switching makes things so much easier on stage. The Via setting is great for just about anything but really shines for lead and middle of the road rock distortion. And having a second mode to contour your own sounds is a huge plus. I have mine set for harder rock wah work and it is working out great. I now have 2 great wahs in one pedal!! And it is built with great quality like all Morley items. No matter what style, you just can't go wrong with this pedal

Very Nice

By Bassman

from Olmsted Falls,Ohio

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

Very good, I got this 4 days ago and I have to say WOW!! very strong sounding, I use this Wah for my Bass and man does it pack a mean punch, if you want it for Bass make sure you have a very nice Bass amp or it might break your amp but it might not just saying you may want to only use it for Bass if you have an Ampeg or a GK amp , so anyway very high quality, I use it for Metallica songs and it sounds great.

Awesome wah for all styles

By ibanezman007

from CA

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

I just got this wah today and it sounds incredible! I was very surprised to see that you could play everything from funk to metal by just changing channels on you amp, and using you volume control to clean up your sound. I tried this out through an Orange Rockverb 50 and a 4x12 cab, and you can get sounds anywhere from hendrix, to vai, to satriani. All in all a great wah!

Great for bass too!

By Andy

from Cleveland Ohio

Comments about Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 Contour Wah Pedal:

This thing is amazing! I play at local clubs here in cleveland with my band and I will have a bass solo, and when I hit this thing, the entire room is like WAH! This thing is better than any crybaby bass pedal I have used and it is a guitar pedal! Great for Guitar and Bass, my guitar player tries to steal it from me sometimes cause he likes it better than his crybaby wah!
