Upon using the Morley ABY channel switcher, I was surprised to find that my tone significantly diminished when in "Y" mode between two amps. I'm running a Nashville Tele between an Orange AD30HTC and Fender HRD with a POD xtl in front of it. The Orange suffers the most, losing shimmering highs, some body and sustain. The digital POD to the HRD is buffered, so that helps my signal, but their is bleed between the amps. Also, popping noises can be heard when switching the Morley. Overall, it is a great price to use between switching two guitars, but for running expensive vintage amps, go with a Lehle ABY.
Don't get me wrong, this is a great channel switcher, but the tone of my amps dives significantly, I don't feel my punchy, twangy Twin when it's plugged in. Also, there is a lot of hissing and clicking between channels. But regardless, built like a tank, GREAT in a live pinch and FUN to mix and match amps with! Just be careful before buying this. Buy it ONLY if you don't care about the aforementioned problems.
I use this pedal to switch between my guitar and mandolin. It works for me and the signal loss is negligible. Have not tried it as a bi-amp unit but then again I don't really use my own amps as I am an acoustic player mostly. I have not experienced any hiss, clicks or pops when switching. Would recommend this to anyone using it as I do currently.
