I've had the Pitchbox for a few months now and really like it. My review is actually a 4.5 star review, but since you can't do that, I had to put 4. The only thing that takes off the half is the cons I listed above, but they're all minor/reasonable. It does have a little learning curve so you can see what each interval sounds like and how to get the sounds you want. It does glitch every so often, but that happens to any octave effect. I'm still awaiting a perfectly polyphonic octave effect, but I digress. And lastly, EXP capabilities would truly make this a 5 star pedal, but I know that it's a ridiculous request for this type of pedal. This is a SMALL pedal. And that's what I love about it. My pedalboard welcomes it, it sounds very good, the tracking is pretty darn great, and its one of the cheapest pedals of this particular effect.

Great pedal, will be looking into more Mooers!

Not a horrible product IMO. The detune gives a nice chorus effect. I thought the pitch shift was great for dropping or raising your tuning with ease. If those two things were all I wanted it for, I would've kept it. However, I bought mainly it for the Harmony function. Not so great there. Most of the time you feel like there is another guitarist with you that just can't keep his guitar in tune...very annoying. I wanted the Boston, Thin Lizzy, Saxon harmony sound. This pedal won't quite do that like I thought it would, so I decided to return this and go with an intelligent harmony instead by ordering a Boss PS-6. Should've just done that in the first place.

Comments about Mooer Pitch Box Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is my first pitch shifter. I am sure there's better out there, but For the money you can't beat it! I love the small compact size that allows me more room on my board for additional pedals.

Comments about Mooer Pitch Box Guitar Effects Pedal:

I love the size of it. Had little room on my pedalboard, but wanted a harmonizing effect to round it out.
With different sized pedals on the board I was able to tuck it into the loop in a couple spots no problem.
The only complaint is at the higher harmonies, the tone gets a little "tinny". But without overdrive, it's not
nearly as noticeable. I wasn't interested in them, but find myself using the detune & pitch shift options
as well the harmonizing. The detune can give you what amounts to be a chorus effect and it sounds good.

Comments about Mooer Pitch Box Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've read other reviews and I understand why a lot of people gave this pedal a poor one. If a pedal says it can do 3 things, it should. Unfortunately, that's not the case. However... it does do ONE thing really, really well. If you're looking for a Chorus effect, the "detune" setting is better than any other Chorus I've tried. I even put it up against the Boss PS-6 and the Mooer sounded better. The Boss sounds very digital and thin. The Mooer sounds analog, rich and fat. I can hear a lot more definition on each string. I'm SUPER picky about sound so this pedal really shocked me for the "detune" setting. I agree the other settings are total garbage so I don't use it for anything else.

        3D Chorus on steroids!

        By alex

        from San Diego

Comments about Mooer Pitch Box Guitar Effects Pedal:

I stumbled across this pedal by accident looking for a harmony pedal so I could play the solo to Hotel California and have the illusion of two guitars. It sucks at that. However...! There is ONE setting that blew me away. If you're in search of a 3D Chorus effect like The Police or The Cure, this pedal is magic in a box. Take it a step further and add a Micro Pog and you can play the bass line to "Come As You Are" by Nirvana. I swear that it sounds EXACTLY like the recording. I have mine set on "Detune" and the knob at +2 and it's the ONLY setting I use. I even use this effect to play "Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi and I can almost hear Richie Sambora's 12 string. No other Chorus pedal in the universe sounds like this. Sometimes the best thing a pedal does is something it wasn't intended to do.

After few minutes of use, sounds even worst. I will throw it on the face of the manufacturer.

I bought this pedal for the octave above setting. It did not track well regardless of where I placed it in my signal chain. Plus, when I placed it first on my pedalboard, my guitar cable pulled out of the input all too easily. Silly maybe but bugged me. Promptly returned the item for an exchange.
