I picked one of these up recently and it's pretty nice. I'm the guy who plays out once a month but I have really good gear and finally decided to purchase a power conditioner to fill my modest rack. It has 2 High Current outlets on the back which are perfect for plugging a guitar amplifier head in to. I have a Marshall 100w head going into it with no added noise. 2 "Digital" outlets are great for my Line 6 G90 rackmount wireless unit. And I run my rack pedal board and stage pedalboard into the "Analog" outlets and get NO humming, buzzing, noise!!! If you have a pedalboard you know the importance of using a power source with Isolated Outputs like the voodoo lab pedal power. This is essentially the same, as the outlets are separated into banks to group different devices without each of them bleeding through. It's like plugging all of your equipment into Different outlets on different breakers, except with this bad boy you can you can plug them ALL into the same strip and have the added protection. Do yourself a favor and have guitar center price match it to save money too.
I decided to build a rack to compliment my rig, so I was deseperately in need of adequate power conditioning. Alot of my friends have the Furman ones, but they seemed so one dimensional. Then I found out that Monster had just released their own. It wasn't long before I found myself in posession of one. For the past three months, it has protected me from blackouts, power surges, and inconsistent power as I've plugged in to numerous power sources. I also appreciate the way it has different inputs for different types of equipment.
over the years i have built up a pretty solid system. I have a lot of high end equiptment but never believed that a power conditioner was necessary. I finally decided to break down and buy this one. What a wonderful investment that was. This unit filters noise, so you dont have to worry about buzzing and humming from ground loop issues. I own a compressor that if is powered on or off while your amplifiers are running, creates an enoumous thump in the speakers which can damage or destroy them, this unit has seperate receptacles for amplifiers so when you hit the main power switch there is a 5 sec delay before the amps power on, the same when you shut it off, the amps go off first. Now my system is even idiot proof thanks to this unit. It is sturdy works great and is reasonably priced. an excelent addition to any sound rig.
