For a time when instrument cables are so expensive, the simple Monster cable does the job. I bought 2 12 foot cables and they are fine for my studio. I play with a Gibson Les Paul Studio and don't get any scratching or sounds when moving around with the cables. I am happy with the sound, I just find it very difficult to spend more than what these babies cost for cables. A little pricey for a basic cable, but that's the Monster brand name. I'm happy with them, no sound issues whatsoever and they are fat wires and easy to transport. There are better cables out there, but you gotta be willing to shell out the $$. For the $20 each I spent on the 12 footer, I feel I got a very good value.

I tried 6 different ones of these cables and they all had the same problem: they did not "lock" into place in the jack (they would just fit loosely). I tried plugging them into 4 different amps, a digital work station, several guitars, and a drum machine, and they had the same problem on each one. I have never had this problem with any other cable I have ever owned (and I've had a lot of cables over the years, from the cheapest ones I could find to top of the line), so I was puzzled at this unexpected glitch. But after finding the problem on six of these (all 6 foot length), I decided to give up on Monster. Musician's Friend was very good about accepting returns for all of them, so I only had minor inconvenience.

Comments about Monster Cable S-100 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I'm not a cable expert, but this seems to be a very good cable. It's not thin and flimsy and does what it's supposed to.

Comments about Monster Cable S-100 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I bought two 12 foot cables ten years ago and have not had to replace them. Still are working as good as the day I bought them. I've played these cables through several bass and amps and recorded demos with them. No issues ever.

Comments about Monster Cable S-100 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

All seems fine. Will rate higher if it lasts. Velcro retainer is nice touch, though a bit bulky. I like Planet Waves' small stretch band, but the cords plugged in very insecurely. This one is secure.

I've had a few of these, and they've always worked great. Plus it's hard to argue with their warranty.

            monster cable s-100 (6ft)

            By ANGEL HERNANDEZ

            from Edinburg, Tx

Comments about Monster Cable S-100 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Good cable, rugged construction & the velcro tie is a nice addition. The only small issue i had was with the colored rubber bands that come with it to identify different cables, they would keep rolling off...i fixed that with a little super glue. Besides that minimal issue good overall cable, i would recommend it. Side note...wish Monster Cables would make a tweed cable!
