Having many different cables laying around in my home studio made me realize how much money I have spent and the cables are all of low quality and do not help the sound at all. I finally decided to go to the next level and try professional quality cables. Mogami was my choice because a recording tutorial I saw recommended them as being the best. When I got the cable, I let my guitarist try out since we were practicing and I was playing drums. He told me he noticed less feedback than before and the sound became somewhat better without other weird noises. After I tried it myself, all of my friends statements were proven as I noticed the same things. I guarantee this is the last cable you will ever need.

This cable certainly does it's job, it takes the sound from my pickups and transfers it to my amplifier. Whether it does it better than my $10 no-name cable is a great debate to have. I read all the great things about these cables and how they reveal everything your cheap cables have been hiding, and I figured I better get one. Well after 2 weeks, I personally haven't seen any rainbows shoot out of my speakers. If you can hear a difference between cables then I guess this is a great cable to get, but if you're like me and don't notice anything different, then I guess you just spent $40 you didn't have to. And no, I'm not playing a squier through a crate amp. I have tried it with several of my guitars including my Carvin, Charvel, Parker, and Jackson soloist through my Mesa, Bogner and Randall amps. Hope you notice the difference at my next gig because I sure won't :)

Worth The Money

By Jay Dugan

from Clearwater, Florida

Comments about Mogami Gold Instrument Cable Angled - Straight Cable:

After my disappointment trying several other cables, both cheap and not so cheap, I bought a Mogami Gold Angled/Straight cable on the recommendation of a GC associate. The reduction in noise was noticeable, even compared to other pricey gold cables. The signal was very clean and just what I was looking for.

Great cable and Mogami / Guitar Center stands behind it

By CRAIG IBBOTSON

from Crystal Lake, IL

Comments about Mogami Gold Instrument Cable Angled - Straight Cable:

I bought 2 18' Mogami gold cables in 2008 from my local Guitar Center. Besides home use, these cables were taken to practice every week and used every Sunday at church. I was tired of other cables (Monster and Planet Waves specifically) wearing out every six months, so I decided to splurge on the Mogami's based on the recommendation of the guitar tech at Guitar Center. The lifetime warranty sounded appealing - I was hoping it didn't have any catches. The first cable took three years of punishment before it gave out. Took it back to Guitar Center with my receipt, and they gave me a new one no questions asked. The second one just gave out after 5 years of regular use - unbelievable! I took it back to Guitar Center and got a replacement, no questions asked. I will never have to buy another cable again - these Mogami's last an incredibly long time considering the punishment they take, and Guitar Center replaces them for free with the lifetime warranty. Needless to say I am one happy customer. Funny story - everyone knows that when you have problems with noise, etc. in your setup, the first thing you check is the cables. But these cables are so reliable that our sound techs stopped checking my cables when I had issues. When this last one finally went, we didn't figure out it was the cable until we had already checked everything else... lesson learned!

MOGAMI CABLES FOREVER

By james toensing

from Yulee, Florida

Comments about Mogami Gold Instrument Cable Angled - Straight Cable:

These are the ABSOLUTE best cables to use for "guitar to pedals", "pedal to pedal" and "pedals to amp". POINT BLANK. Its like taking a wool blanket off of your speakers! You can actually hear the diffence! BIGTIME. I highly recommend these cables, I swear by them again and again, and Guitar Center's policy on cable replacement is first rate, second to none! I own several different length cables all made by Mogami, and they outperform everything else. Period.

DOA

By Peter

Comments about Mogami Gold Instrument Cable Angled - Straight Cable:

Cable was shorted right out of the packaging! Short turned out to be in the right angle connector. After 3rd try at repositioning plastic shield and screwing it back together it worked. How hard is it to design and test a signal cable? I am willing to pay for quality, not hype!

Great Cable!!

By Joshua

from Ohio

Comments about Mogami Gold Instrument Cable Angled - Straight Cable:

I bought this cable to see if it would help my sound in any way since I play in a very low tunning (4 1/2 steps from standard). I was recommended by the guitar center employee that this is his personal favorite wire so I gave it a try. I had cheap instrument cables I gotten from the local music stores. When I first plug the cable in, I was surprise how much the sound improve. It had giving it more low and higher hi's. It also had more compression which I personally like due to get a killer death metal sound. Another thing that surprise me was it was light not heavy. I would defiantly recommend this instrument cable to move up the music chain to getting better quality, and better sound.

Get these. You wont regret it.

By Eric

from Florida

Comments about Mogami Gold Instrument Cable Angled - Straight Cable:

I was looking to complete my set of Live Wire Advantage today at GC. My entire rig was set up with those, excluding the guitar's cable itself. They did not have any 20' or longer angled head live wires OR monsters, but the guy helping me recommended these to me. Price is never an issue for me when it comes to my tone, so I decided to give it a try. I immediately went down to my practice space to try it out. As soon as I turned the amp and and played something clean, I could not believe what I was hearing. My clean channel sounded at least ten times better than it did at my band's last practice, and I hadn't changed ANY settings on the amplifier itself. In a week or two, I will be replacing every cable in my rig with these. I fully recommend you do the same.
