When Modulus Guitars and Michael Tobias Design combined their efforts to produce the most responsive and rich-sounding basses possible, the Genesis bass was born. This bass begins with the exclusive Genesis composite technology, which allows resonant, soft tonewoods to be used in the neck for the first time. The result is an instrument that surprises you both with its unique sound as well as its striking visual statement.
Every other detail of the Genesis is just as advanced and well thought out, from the asymmetrical shape of the neck to pickup placement and tone circuits. When you play the Genesis, you experience a musical instrument with unrivaled tone and playability.
This 5-string Genesis features a bubinga top, soma body, and a carbon fiber/alder neck with maple fingerboard.

I've been traveling nationally for 4 years, with the Modulus Genesis 5-string as my main bass. Honestly. The construction is superb; its never had wear and tear problems, and the intonation and other finely-adjusted specs are tried & true. The action on mine is set very low, because on this bass, it can be without problems. The tone control makes it very versatile in sound, and it definitely has the power to cut through the mix if wanted. Because of the wood, active electronics, etc., its fairly heavy, so you'll need a quality shoulder strap, but the strap-locks that came on mine has worked perfectly too. The price was tough, but it proved a good investment, and I guess you really get what you pay for.
