Works like it's supposed to

By Steven Cochran

Comments about Modtone MT-PB8 Powered Pedal Board:

I bought this online without seeing it. I was surprised with how big it actually was. Everything works well, it's not too heavy with my six pedals on it (I'm just a bass player). The only complaints I have is that the Velcro it comes wants to come off of the pedals when I am trying to rearrange my set up. I should go buy different Velcro, but right now it isn't needed. The case is great for a gig bag, don't expect something that you can toss around, but don't think that this is frail and falling apart. I pack everything up for each practice and shows , about 4-5 times a week, and it is holding up just fine. I say get it!

modtone powered pedal board

By Daniel

Comments about Modtone MT-PB8 Powered Pedal Board:

Pedal boards/power supplies are some of the more heinously overpriced pieces of gear in the guitar world. I can't say that this board is as durable as a "pro" setup, but it gets the job done just fine. The case it comes with is tough, it includes male miniplugs with 1/8" heads to power older pedals that don't have the now-standard Boss style AC connection (think DOD stuff from the 80's-early 90's) and you can find these cheap. Most people really won't need anything else, and you won't have to spend an arm or a leg. You can always buy stronger velcro strips for next to nothing, too.

Just OK

Comments about Modtone MT-PB8 Powered Pedal Board:

I bought this on the internet sight unseen only going by reviews on other sites and the pictures. If you can check it at the store first (a good suggestion.)Many reviews on the internet were really high on this product. I just don't see it. I opened the box today and was a little surprised at the lower quality for the price. It is a nice size and has power outlets and cables provided for 8 pedals but the black covering on it that the velcro connects to and secures the pedals seems really cheap. When you pull the velcro off all this black fuzzy (like carpet fiber) comes off (not real hook and loop). I can see if you were to move pedals often this will turn into a big fuzzy hairball. Also I had thought it would be angled up slightly on the back and not sit flat on the floor. Well I am going to try and make this work and may have to customize it some and I am not sure how long this is going to hold up to tell the truth. I plugged in my Fender tunner first and it does not seem to be compatible. All in all just barely suitable for a hobbyist like me. I thought about returning it but what a hassle. If you are performing on stage forget it look at something else. Hope this helps.
