The Verb Digital Reverb effects pedal kit will have your tone dripping with sweet, warm reverb using the Belton Digi-Log module. This kit features easy-to-follow instructions and point-to-point wiring. Pre-drilled die-cast aluminum enclosure and all parts included. All you need is a soldering iron and solder. Operates on a 9V battery or AC adapter (not included).
I got my start in electronics building a few radio shack kits in the 70's. Now retired, I thought I'd give this a shot since I play guitar and sometimes prefer to "roll my own" effect pedals. The instructions for the kit I think were well written and very detailed. Certainly better than many of the kits from back in the day when it was assumed you knew more than you did. However, my only reservation is the fact that this is not a kit for a novice. The available space is pretty tight, so care must be taken go slow if you aren't a kit building veteran. I had to de-solder and redo some connections because I skipped a line or two. They do include extra wire in case you make a mistake. I finished the kit and it worked first time. This isn't a soaking wet reverb like you'd get from an old Fender amp, but more subtle, like an early Boogie reverb. I wasn't knocked out by it, but I wasn't disappointed because I didn't spend a fortune on it.
This was my first kit I put together. Let me tell you, this is a great little reverb pedal. It has a very smooth delay, and if you even held one of these pedals in your hand you would see that it is heavy duty quality. This is not some cheap plastic pedal. The Verb is robust and totally legit. I would highly recommend this pedal to any beginner who is looking to learn about electronics or a music professional who just wants a quality reverb unit.
I bought this kit to get experience in building my own stuff and it worked out great. The instructions were very well written, with diagrams. It took me about 6 hours to build but I am sure the someone who was more experienced would be able to do it in allot less time. After the build I found the reverb very sweet and satisfying I used in chain with my Proco Rat and found it worked great. I really like that the box it is in is durable and looks cool, I know plan on buying the tube overdrive next I think it is called The Presauder?
