This is after purchasing the MU-70 first, exchanged that to the MU-100, a total disappointment. On both models, the saddle sinks into the bridge on the #1 string after tuning the instrument. Maybe it is designed that way but other ukes I have checked out does not do that. The biggest flaw is the metal on the fret board, the first 5 fret steel are not filed down to smoothness, they are sharp. Sharp enough that it catches the finger flesh when playing. This is true on both models. The upside, both models have good resonance.

Great Look

By Trevor

from Southern California

Comments about Mitchell MU100 Koa Concert Ukulele:

This is the first "real" Ukulele I ever played. I was initially skeptical about the quality especially as to whether or not it would stay in tune. The first few times I tuned it, it was out of tune within a couple hours or so. But after a few days it held a tune well and is now one of my favorite instruments to play. It feels great, looks great, and sounds great. It's nice to have something so portable as well.

Mitchell MU100

By E. Manning

from Camas, WA

Comments about Mitchell MU100 Koa Concert Ukulele:

This uke is even more beautiful than in the pictures! It has a wonderful, bright, loud tone and it's neck is extremely comfy. This is an amazing price for a koa ukulele! It's the perfect size, too. The tuners and the headstock are awesome. Absolutely no flaws with this little guy! I plan to play this for the rest of my life. Buy it!!! (if you don't have the money for this, get the Mitchell MU70. I played it at a local Guitar Center and it was amazing!!!)

Nice tone, minor finish flaws; great value overall

By Eric

from Federal Way, WA

Comments about Mitchell MU100 Koa Concert Ukulele:

Overall, I am very impressed with this ukulele. Its warm tone and finish are very pleasant, although it wasn't quite as loud as some of the other concert ukuleles that Guitar Center had on display. Its tone bested all of the pricier ukuleles that I tested (from Cordoba and Lanikai). Impressive! My only two complaints are that they sealed couple small blemishes into the finish, and they got a little sloppy with the glue on the fretboard. Overall, this ukulele was an excellent combination of appearance, tone and value!!

Comfortable:)

By Tiffany

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Mitchell MU100 Koa Concert Ukulele:

I went to Guitar Center the other day and I wanted to check out some ukes hopin there'd be a Fender one but I tried out this one and it played REALLY well! The neck was really comfortable and the frets weren't too small. It was really easy to chagne chords and the sound of the black nylon strings was amazing. It was really warm and bright. I very much suggest this ukulele to any ukulele player.

Great Gift!

By Steve

from Connecticut

Comments about Mitchell MU100 Koa Concert Ukulele:

I gave this Uke to my daughter for Christmas. Her first reaction to seeing it come out of the box... Tears of joy!! It is such a beautiful instrument and sounds like a Hawaiian dream. She is an accomplished guitar player but doesn't travel with it due to the size and cost of baggage these days. This is the perfect size for carry-on.

love this uke

By Nick

from Arlington, WA

Comments about Mitchell MU100 Koa Concert Ukulele:

I have had this uke for 6 months i love it. I love the sound even though the uke is not very loud. The koa wood looks so much better than it does in the picture. It is beautiful! When i found this on here i was like wow what a deal but when i had it it was better than i thought it would be. It is an easy to learn instrument i think this uke is a good for your first uke it is really solid. It can take a beating. When i first got it, it wouldn't stay in tune because of course you need to break the strings in.( get the aquila strings they sound nice with this uke if you can find them) You don't have to tune this uke very often because the tuning pegs are really nice they keep it in tune very nicely i hardly ever have to tune it at all. If you want a deal pick this uke you will not regret it.

Wonderful but a little soft

By Logan Self

from Edmond, Oklahoma

Comments about Mitchell MU100 Koa Concert Ukulele:

I have had this uke for nearly a year now and I am thrilled with it! It is beautiful with the laminate koa wood, it sounds great, and it is comfortable to play. The frets are not too small so it is easier to play chords that are not bar chords. The tuning at first is incredibly loose but after a few weeks of playing it tightens up pretty well. My only complaint is that the sound is not as loud and doesn't resonate as well as I would like. But for the value of this instrument you definitely get your bang for your buck!
