Overview

The Mitchell MS400 electric guitar features a thin profile, single cutaway, mahogany body and an easy-playing shallow-C mahogany set neck design. A unique heel joint provides supreme playing comfort and upper fret access. Includes dual humbucking paraffin-dipped alnico V pickups that reduce microphonics and unwanted feedback. Separate volume controls for each pickup let you blend as needed, while a pull coil-tap allows you to split either humbucking pickup into a single-coil. The flame maple binding and purfling further enhance the high-end look. High-ratio locking tuners provide precise tuning, while the jumbo frets and string-thru body design offer increased sustain and bite.

Before delivery to our dealers, all Mitchell electric guitars receive a complete stateside setup and quality control inspection to ensure exceptional playability. Available in Black (BK), or Honeyburst with AAA quilt maple veneer top (QHB). Case sold separately.

Bought this guitar after playing one for awhile in store and got it in the Honeyburst. Absolutely solid guitar that I am still finding new ways to get different tone out of it after playing it pretty much nonstop for three days. This guitar plays better than any Les Paul or ESP EC model that I've played. Extremely versatile as well! I've been playing it through a Marshall DLS40C and have been able to get crisp cleans and crunchy distortion and have played anything from soft rock to metal and it all sounds good. Would definitely recommend going in and playing one for yourself!

Ok guitar but there are far better for the $$$

By Paul the Paul guy

Comments about Mitchell MS400 Modern Single-Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I came into the store wanting to check out some various guitars. The salesman showed me a lineup of new guitars the store just got and this was the most attractive of the bunch so I decided to try it out. It played ok but not great and just felt like more expensive ltd. I played the LTD ec256 which felt much nicer and sturdier than the mitchell plus its 50 dollars cheaper (WOW MORE GEAR MONEY!)

Comments about Mitchell MS400 Modern Single-Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because of how good it felt in my hands. No sharp fret edges, nice smooth neck very comfortable. The guitar is light weight but sturdy. Solid and smooth electronics. No fret buzz. Nice locking tuners. Setup a breeze. No complaints especially at this price range. There is no need to mod it, the pickups are great. This guitar has the tone I've been looking for in guitars.

  • Nice single coil option

Cons

  • Raised bridge

Best Uses

Comments about Mitchell MS400 Modern Single-Cutaway Electric Guitar:

Feels and looks great. Nice weight and balance. The only complaint I have is that when palm muting it trends to get a little sharp. I attribute this to the raised bridge compared to what I am used to, so it may just be me that has to adjust

If your looking at getting a Epiphone Trditional Pro, Custom Pro,G-400 Pro etc... I would stop and check this guitar out first. Its a beautiful playing guitar and sounds great plus it offers nice premium features. This is the guitar you want! Mitchell is no longer just acoustic guitars and they are here to stay.

Comments about Mitchell MS400 Modern Single-Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I played one of these at my local GC and was quite impressed. Felt like a much more expensive guitar. Had them order one for me (the display had a chipped head stock). It arrived several days later. Upon opening the box I found the guitar wrapped well and snug in the box. After tuning I found the intonation was off slightly and the pups needed to be adjusted. Otherwise the guitar is first rate. Fit and finish are high quality. Very impressed. So much so that I think I am going to get the double cut away version now too!
