This is my first guitar, and I can't get over how awesome it sounds--It makes playing addictive. I was only looking in the store when I bought it on impulse but I'm glad I did. The staff was helpful and I'm not disappointed. It's packaged with an instructional dvd that has a link to a helpful website. However I won't give this package a perfect rating because I think it could come with a book and slightly better accessories; but for a beginner like myself this is hard to beat.

My wife picked this up for me as present when the dude at Guitar Center said it was a better value package than the Gibson Maestro I was looking at. The thing that frustrates me the most, and this is very important to me, is that the dumb thing comes with a strap that you can't even use on this guitar. There is only one strap peg, yet the strap requires the use of two. That is just idiotic! I am about ready to return the guitar. If anyone knows how to use the strap that came with it on this guitar, please drop me a line. Thanks.

Dont think twice, just get it.

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I bought this guitar some time back and so much impressed by it. You cant get this quality in this price period. It has all the nice quality guitar features like solid top, nice construction, and great sound.Another best part about this guitar is the size. The size is so comfortable to play and its so light weight and thats why its addictive to play. I bought a stand also with it and I always put on it. by doing that u dont have to think about the whole process of getting it out of the bag and play and put it back. so by putting it on stand its easy to grab and start playing. Its a great guitar choice, Just buy it and u will be always glad that u made a perfect choice.

You will not find better sound from a guitar for a lower price. I have one upstairs and one downstairs. Sounds awesome and, as someone said earlier, it makes playing addictive. Great guitar.

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I bought the Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack for my brother who hasn't played in over 20 years! Lately he had been talking about playing again, so I found this online and it looked good and the reviews were good. He was so surprised and he absolutely loves this guitar!! Definitely 5 stars!

Loving my new guitar

By sunbird

from NJ

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

This is my first guitar. I'm a small female and was looking for an acoustic that wasn't too bulky or too expensive, while still offering a satisfying playing experience. I took the advice of the salesman and went with this pack. I've had the guitar now for about four months and have been playing nearly daily. The sound is good, it stays in tune, and nothing has broken. I've had a few more experienced guitar friends try it out, and they were impressed too. So, I think this guitar is a good value and a nice starter. I agree with other reviews that said the DVD wasn't great, but I've been using other resources to learn to play that have worked out fine. Also, the gig bag is a really tight fit and does little to protect the guitar. Lastly, I was confused by the strap and the one knob like another reviewer, but after reading up on it, I learned it's not a defect in the guitar, it's just the way acoustic and classical guitars are made. There's another clip sort of thing you would buy and put on the neck to attach the strap. So, it's kind of misleading that the pack doesn't include or explain that, but not a big deal to me. The key for me is that the guitar is great. I would have ditched the rest of the pack if I had a choice or could have gotten the same guitar separately.

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

This is my 1st guitar and ive been playing it for about a year now. It has great sound and stays in tune for pretty long. The gig bag is really handy and makes it easy to carry around. If you are a starter looking for a good sounding and a good in price acoustic guitar this is the one for you!

I Love It!

By Colin

from Matthews, NC

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I got this guitar a few months ago and it's great. It sounds great, it plays great, and it also feels great. The body style is very comfortable. The strings that came with it are fine, but I now have a set of Elixirs on it. I bought a book to learn with instead of the DVD which I didn't find helpful. The gig bag really is just a guitar shaped bag thingy and the guitar barely fits in. I'm thinkin' of getting a stand or case. Other than that though, the pack is great for beginning players or even experienced players who just want a nice guitar. So, take my advice and buy this guitar pack! You won't be sorry!

I Purchaced this Guitar in april of 2010. I have player before but it was years ago and wanted something to rekindle my skills. I was surprised with the sound and quality for the price. It feels like an instroment of twice its price. I would recomend a clip on tuner and a stand but I am very pleased with the package.

Unbelievable...

By David Tobin

from East Granby, CT

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I have a number of high end guitars cost ten times what this does. My Dane Bourgious Country Boy has more depth, but the playablity and tone quality can be beat for under $200. The action is low, the tone is bright, and the finish is beautiful to look at.

GREAT VALUE

By Scott

from PA

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I have a Martin and a Seagull guitar and wanted to get something inexpensive, not as a beater, but just as a contrast to my other guitars. The Mitchell was the right choice. I replaced the plastic saddle with a bone saddle, installed new cream colored bridge pins with abalone tips to match the guitar's abalone rosette, and replaced the strings with D'Addario EJ16's. This is a great sounding guitar and the shape is very comfortable to play. It has a nice well balanced tone with rich bass and clear highs, and this is mostly due to the solid spruce top. I would recommend keeping it in a hard shell case and watch humidity levels because of the solid wood top.

My Mitchell MO100

By David Michael

from Vero Beach Florida

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

I bought this guitar because I was on a budget...I have played Mitchell guitars in the past and there was always something that felt and sounded good about them...I took MY MO100 and put elixer strings on it--I put on brass bridge pins, and I took the pickguard off..I found it that to be pretty useless..Just like the rest of the pack..but so what..That means they put a little more into the guitar itself..This guitar plays and sounds really good...Check all the features on this guitar that you almost never see on a guitar at this pricepoint..Anyway..I absolutely LOVE mine..I find it hard to put down..It plays so nice and easy..If your thinking of buying one then just do it. You won't ever regret it nor will you ever part with it'..No matter what level of player you are, this guitar has that something..It's my go to guitar for just about everything!

Produces better sound quality after time

By Margarette Pineda

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

Its a really nice guitar to have. I have had mine for more than 3 years now and sounds great only mine was not well with the humidity in my new house so just keep your guitars "healthy" and take very good care of it and it should bring you a good sounding quality and will stay with you for a long time. Until now I still love it! I've already invested a lot of other accessories to make it sound even better! Making me love it even more. Been with me for 3-5 years now. Every time I play it sounds better and better.

Nice sized guitar for a smaller player

By RoundRockArtist

from Round Rock, TX

Pros

  • Nice sound
  • Slightly smaller than a folk sized guitar
  • Solid top
  • Stays in tune

Cons

  • One strap button
  • Super thin guitar bag

Best Uses

  • practicing
  • taking to lessons

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

My daughter saw one of these guitars at GC used and got it at a super price. She is small (under 5 ft tall) and it fits her well either sitting or standing. She says it plays easily and it has a nice sound. We recently tried a Fishman Neo-D Humbucking pickup on it and it sounded great! It's a nice guitar for her to stand and play while she sings since it isn't too big and heavy. The only downfall is that it only has one strap button so it needs a strap with a neck string - but no big issue. My son has a Yamaha folk solid top and this guitar sounds very comparable but fits a smaller person better. The bag that comes with the pack is really thin so I would suggest a padded gig bag instead. The tuner works fine.

Awesome!

By YourMom

from Matthews, NC

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

This pack is great! I got it as an end-of-school gift and it is great! My only complaints would be that the 2nd string is kinda buzzy and the 1st string broke on me while I was tuning it. Oh well. Live and learn. Also, the DVD that comes with it isn't all that helpful either. I just got a book and that helps a lot! So, take my advice and buy this pack!

oops!

By Nice Guy

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Mitchell MO100SPK Folk Acoustic Guitar Pack:

The Guitar value pack is a good concept. The guitar that I ordered was very well constructed with one major exception. The nut and saddle were installed improperly making the instrument unplayable. The bottleneck slide did not fit well. I will be returning these products for credit so that I may puchase better products from Guitar Center.
