Professional, intermediate or beginner, this guitar is great to own

By Ryan

from Garfield NJ

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

I highly recommend getting this acoustic guitar. Whether you're looking to own another, or trying to find a good one to start with, this is a great choice either way. The price is a steal for this guitar. The neck is smooth and you can slide up and down the neck with ease, nailing riffs and licks with precision and sounding awesome at the same time. Which is what this guitar does. The sound is clear and the tone is great; it sounds warm and bright. The tuning pegs are big and it makes the guitar easy to tune. The guitar stays in tune for a good amount of time too, it's not so easy to get it out of tune. Overall it's a great guitar, buy it if you can.

Great Sound

By Richard

from Lake Charles, La.

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

This guitar has a great warm sound, but also has a robust sound, it really jumps out there. I needed a guitar that I could just grab and work on my writing. When you play a certain chord, it sounds like that chord right away. This Mitchell MO100s also stays in tune for a long time.It fits me great, well built, solid, and looks great. You would not go wrong in this investment.

Mitchell MO 100s/vs

By Jonathan Hand

from Belair, maryland- Hazlehurst, Georgia

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

My name is Jon Hand. Ive played guitar since I was 11 years old. Ive had my hands on thousands of guitars priced high and low. I've had ovations, Gibson, takaminies ect.. all the name brands. The Mitchell MO 100s/vs is an amazing guitar. I find it funny that a $600 ovation doesn't play anywhere near as good as my Mitchell and its American made. This is one guitar that Ill never let go. Very impressed with the action and the ring..

Great Buy!!!

By Ken

from Naples, FL.

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

I am just learning to play guitar and bought this guitar based on price. It has an amazing sound and is easy to play. Even though its cheap I know that this guitar will always be a part of my collection. It is made over seas but is still made well with real wood. Great beginner guitar will easily become the travel guitar after I learn more songs.

Perfect

By Colton Smith

from Pueblo, CO

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

My grandmother was going to get and Epiphone PR-150 for me but when she went in to the local guitar center she found out that they went out of stalk. She ended up buying me the Mitchell MO100S/VS. When i found this out, I was really mad. But i decided since she spent the money id try it out. when She dropped it off at my hose i tuned it up and when i played i was amazed at the quality of sound and how rich it was. I'm so glad i decided to try it out instead of being a jerk about not getting what it wanted. I love my Mitchell and if you're thinking of getting this guitar i would highly recommend it. It just sounds great, stays in tune, its easy to play, and every time I play, it seems that the sound gets better and better.

Great Guitar

By Achala Ganegoda

from Omaha NE

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

Mitchell MO100S is a great guitar; what can I say, ?Perfect deal?. I tried many guitars of its range (Ex: Yamaha FG700S, FS700S, FG730 and etc), but Mitchell MO100S is by far better than everything on its range. It looks really nice in real and the tone is brilliant for its range. My brother, who has a Martin 00015, was surprised with the tone, just amazing. But, you do have to lower the action a little bit. If you?re a beginner, traveler or even a professional, this is one of the best you can buy for its range. It looks and sounds more than its value (maybe few hundreds more). Go for it, you won?t regret it.

Defies Logic

By Brian Harris

from Akron, OH

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

Having sold my Taylor 410 a few years ago, I'm looking for a replacement that is cheaper (so when the kids draw on it I don't weep in front of them) but not a non-responsive box with strings. That's the bummer coming from the 410 - I want a cheap, worry-free guitar but I'm spoiled by a "real guitar" sound. I played all the 000's, folks, and smaller guitars in the room today and this one really blew me away. The neck was the best, I swear the frets were polished, and the sound was balanced. I kept looking at the price and wondering how it would hold up when, inevitably, my 2 year old stands on top of it. I'm still shopping, but this one is a 4 star on my list. And the neck was MUCH better than the budget $800 Martin in the room.

VERY satisfied with this guitar!

By Mike L., Chicago.

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

I'm a lefty who's frustated with the ABSENCE of lefty smallbodies in this price range, but I wanted to hear for myself what this guitar sounded like, with the solid top 'n all. I liked the sound, action, construction and color scheme (pickguard 'on top' wouldn't be as glaring...), so I bought it. I put in a lefty compensated saddle (from another guitar), hence the setpoints of each string are now perpendicular to the neck, improving intonation, widened two nut slots and restrung lefty. TA-DAAAH!! Stays in tune perfectly, whether open or capo 3 or capo 5. Bright highs and mid-range, lows not quite as loud but makes a nice E minor, e.g. The only other quibble is, I had to take an emery board to the fret edges - they were noticably felt while sliding up 'n down the neck - no biggie. Thanks to Brian at the Halsted St. store!

Great guitar

By Noah Reichner

from Abington PA

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

I've been playing guitar for about 5 years, and this is a very good guitar for the price. the only reason i gave it 4 stars not 5 is that it buzzes a little especially when using a capo but i put on heavy gage strings and it helps a lot i can barely hear the buzzing now.

Best value for a guitar under $300

By Alan Kiernan

from Maine

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

I've owned the guitar for a bit over two weeks. Neck is stable, bridge and top show no sign of trouble, and tuners do not slip. The guitar is very well-made and I highly recommend it. Intonation is near perfect over the entire fretboard, even beyond the 12th fret. It has low action without any fret buzz, even when finger-picked at high volume. The neck is bound, so the sharp fret ends felt on many low-priced guitars are not a problem. The entire guitar is finished in high gloss (not just a gloss top, or gloss body with a cheaply finished satin neck). Tone is about average for a $250-$400 guitar. Nothing great but not dead like some heavily braced clunkers selling in the $300-$400 range. This guitar is pretty light, which surprised me.

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

So I was looking for a smaller body guitar to keep around the house or at work. I have really nice guitars ( Gibson, Seagull ect.) and I don't want them to get beat up by keeping them out of their cases. I really wanted something to beat on a little and something that is replaceable if it gets damaged. This is a sweet little guitar. It is not going to give you the sound of a Martin but for under $200 you really can't go wrong. Construction seems solid. Fit and finish are very good, better than most in the under $200 market. The tuners are smooth and hold the tune very well. The neck is straight and fairly smooth for a hi-gloss neck. The fretboard is of good quality and the fret edges are nice and smooth. The solid spruce top gives this guitar a nice snappy tone. I also like the abalone rosette. All in all a good guitar for just jamming out and for practice. It plays easy after a quick truss rod adjustment and some new strings.

If you are looking for a guitar you can use for any purpose, this is the one.
I have had mine for a year now and I bought my other guitarist one and he loves it like I love mine! This is a real players acoustic, so why spend a ton for other guitars you have to baby and won't take to jams when you can get this and a decent case and have at it!! Try it then buy it.

                Great for beginners!

                By Ally Urban

                from CT

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

Great guitar. I came into the guitar center with my old yamaha kid's guitar, hoping to fix the strings on that one and then be on my way. I never had had experience with a guitar before,I knew that I would be taking a high school guitar course when I started school, so I wanted to fix my old guitar up. Well, I was obviously too old for it, so the salesperson took me to the acoustic room and had me try a few different guitars. I really liked this guitar at first sight; the finish was nice, it was comfortable and not too big, and the tone sounded pretty nice. I got my guitar in June 2012, and have been playing for about 5 months. This guitar is excellent for beginners, and easy to chord as well as play riffs on. Stays well in tune, and overall sounds great. I like the lacquer finish type stuff; it makes the guitar shiny, and easy to play bar and power chords on b/c you can slide up and down the neck :) It was well worth the money- I've learned some great songs with the help of this guitar! It's pretty durable too, b/c I've banged it around a little into my desk or onto my chair by accident and it is still fine.

                Fun to Play!

                By Dennis Larson

                from Denver CO

Comments about Mitchell MO100S Solid-Top Orchestra Guitar:

This is a great little guitar, especially at this price (I paid $169). I was looking for a parlor guitar, but couldn't justify the price for anything too expensive. This compares to an Epiphone EL 00, so by extension it compares to the Gibson Robert Johnson model. Of course, it doesn't come close to those guitars, but it serves the same purpose if you're on a budget. The action was great right out of the box, and the neck (rosewood fingerboard) is light years beyond other guitars under $500. It sounds great too, although not real loud - as you would expect. But it plays like a dream and - with a little imagination - it feels like an old style blues box. I think it looks great too. The finish is heavily laquered, but well-applied, so it should stay nice looking. Size-wise, I'm not sure it's officially a parlor guitar. Most actual parlor guitars are much smaller. But then again, it compares very closely in size to the Epiphone EL-00, which is classified as a parlor guitar. So where is the cutoff? Anyway, it's small, but not tiny. A great beginner's guitar, or just a great guitar for knocking around. I played a lot of more expensive guitars in the shop, and none were as fun to play as this one. I recommend it highly. I haven't had it long, but if you don't see any updated posts from me, assume it's holding up!
