Comments about Mitchell MD300SCE Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
i went perusing the local Dallas Guitar Centers looking for a good acoustic/electric in the $300-400 price range. Yeah, a tall order to begin with, right? I played on several name brand a/e's including Ibanez, Epiphone, Alvarez, Fender, etc. I found a couple that I liked OK, but nothing was giving me the total package. Then the sales associate suggested I try out a Mitchell MD300SCE. I had never heard of them before. Immediately, I was blown away! The acoustic sound alone was phenomenal and the neck was very fast and comfortable. Plugged it in and the Fishman preamp system (with onboard tuner) delivered a clear and sonically pleasing representation of the acoustic tone. Plays like a dream, good thick tone out of the spruce/rosewoods. Beautiful abalone binding. I was quite surprised to find gold plated Grover tuners on this guitar as well. I cannot say enough about this guitar. I got it home and have been playing it for hours now. If you are going to Guitar Center and looking in this price range (they have some cheaper models as well), do yourself a favor and give them a try. You should be pleasantly surprised!
