Happiest I've Ever Been

By LammerTheHammer

from St Louis, MO

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Let's face it, not all of us can justify $2000-3000 guitars. And the lower-end offerings can end up being a disappointment. Mitchell seems to have gotten it just right with this one. I am not a pro, I basically just play in the evening for my kids and to unwind. I've owned it for 6 months now, playing it about every other night and it seems to be holding up great. I am amazed how little it needs to be retuned - less than any other guitar I own. Once past the initial settling in period of the strings, I rarely have to touch the tuning. Still using the original strings, which seem to perform well. In the store, it seemed to have a little higher quality feel than the others in its price range. It has a full, warm sound - not cheap and tinny like some lower ends. The depth of the wood finish (on the natural spruce, not the "EBK" ebony electric version) looked better than others too. Sort of wished the electric came in the natural finish as well, but I've grown to like the black finish. The extra money for the electic pickup version seemed a no-brainer - glad I did it. I wasn't sure I would even use a 12 string that much, now I pick it up more than any of my other guitars and find myself inspired to do more songs, just for how the variation will sound on this 12 string. Overall, it is great to find such a value these days. This is the happiest I've been with ANY purchase in a long time. Enjoy.

Mitchell 12 String

By H Davis

from Maryland

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Gtreat Tone, and easy on the fingers. For a 12 string, this guitar has a perfect action, and is easy to play. The insturment is well built, and holds tune very well. The major drawback is changing the battery in the pre amp. Absolute nightmare. You have to de-string the insturment, then reach inside to connect the battery leads. Adding an external battery compartment would be a big plus on this.

Wonderful Instrument

By RLB

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just bought this guitar today and couldn't be happier! The build quality is great and the tone could easily be mistaken for that of a guitar costing five times as much. The sound is incredible-for a guitar at any price point. I am not looking forward to changing the battery but that will be a small price to pay for this wonderful instrument.

Great Deal

By Greg

from Bowling Green, VA

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great guitar at a Great price. I used the online coupon and saved $25.00 The action on this is great for a 12-string and plays nicely. I haven't had a chance to fully test the "Plugged-in" sound but acoustically it's clean and crisp and Sound awesome. Great deal all around. I also have to give a shout out to the Awesome staff at GC in Fredericksburg. I always leave satisfied with my time spent. Thanks

Give it a Go!!!

By Happy Mitchell Owner

from Atlanta, GA

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I could go on and on about this guitar, but I won't. You need to play it...End of story. Drive to your local guitar center, find this guitar, plug it into a good amp, and let it rip. Then you need to pick up other 12 strings and try to justify paying 3 times as much. I tried and failed. Mitchell was nowhere on my radar. Now I own one.

the battery

By patrick stracener

from nashville tn.

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I totally agree that for the price, you can't get a better 12 string. However, changing the battery is sometimes extremely hard. Why Mitchell didn't mount the receiver for the battery like higher priced guitars are mounted I can't say. I own 3 Mitchell 12's and dread changing the battery when I change strings. Other than that, you can't get a better 12 unless you spend 4 to 5 times the money.

First 12 String

By JC

from Wichita, Kansas

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Honestly this is a very nice guitar, well built, and good looking. Stringing the guitar isn't as difficult as I thought it would be. The onboard EQ has minimal features but works fine. The design and components are much like my Washburn 6 string so it really fit nicely into to my Acoustic ensemble. A guitar cable and neck adjustment tool were included. No Strap and no case.

One of the Best 12 Strings I've Played!

By Parker Huff

from Owosso, Michigan

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I tried this 12 string in-store, and for this being my 1st 12 string I ever played, I loved it the moment I got used to it. However, I didn't like the design, though. Overall, this 12 string is a sweet one!

First 12 String I own

By Lindy

from Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I happened to be able to try this guitar in the stores when I picked up my Electric I bought that day. It was a great Guitar to play on and wasn't bad priced. I enjoy this guitar a lot and It's worth the money, but the battery died on me easily recently and won't work with my amp at the moment. The battery is hard to change out because you have to loosen the strings to get to it by putting your hand through the hole in the guitar... I'm only frustrated by this fact. It's a great guitar besides that fact.

Unbelievable Guitar

By Laura Wempa

from Belding, Mi

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I received this guitar for Christmas from my boyfriend who is an accomplished guitar player. We spent 3 hours in guitar center playing every acoustic guitar in stock. I knew the minute I picked this one up that I had to have it. The sound is unbelievable! I played a Martin that was priced $200.00 more, and I prefered the Mitchell hands down. The only thing I don't like about this guitar is the location of the battery. I have replaced it twice now, I have learned to use a lithium battery................they last a lot longer.

great guitar but beware humidity

By Kurt M

from Denver, Colorado

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12EBK 12-String Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

great sounding guitar no doubt, but if you live in places of low humidity (ie colorado) you should note that it begins to suffer problems of low humidity VERY quickly after being purchased, i had it for 6 months before it cracked, so take note to keep it humidified all the time, lest ye suffer the dreaded cracked guitar blues. other than that ive found this guitar to be a phenomenal instrument and definitely worth the money, at this price this is a steal
