The solid top provides excellent warm and vibrant tones. You always get what you pay for but with the Mitchell MD100 you get a bit more bang for your buck. Excellent First guitar forthe beginner. This will not dissapoint you and is better IMHO than similiar priced Fenders, Epiphones and the lot where you pay more for the name. If wish to buy their products, save a bit and buy something that will truly be worthwhile like a Martin or a Gibson and they do not fall typically in these price ranges as the Mitchelle MD100. Great second guitar for those who wish to carry it around and get some rough usage at the beach or parties and not worry about risking losing a precious guitar while still sounding good. Good Finish. Solid Constrution. I would recommend this to any players looking in the below $300 price range.

I wanted a 12 string to play occasionally but didn't want to spend a lot. I think this guitar has pretty good components but it comes with a very bad set up. I had to adjust the truss rod and sand the saddle and also replace strings. I think if you had to pay someone for the work I did it wouldn't really be worth the cost of the guitar and work done. After I did the set up it came out pretty good and has a really full harpy sound to it. I wouldn't suggest this gutiar unless you could do the setup.

Primary Guitar

By Scott Olin

from Modesto, CA

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar has become my primary instrument over the last year. My other guitars are starting to get dusty from lack of use. The tone is great and the full, rich sound is great for the rhythm styles I use. Really a great bargain--it sounds like a much more expensive guitar. A bit head heavy, but most 12's are. The only thing I wish it had was an on board tuner. That is a lot of strings to tune, and a good onboard tuner would make the job a lot easier.

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

I really like the guitar; had played it at GC and decided to buy.
It came with badly oxidized strings. When I removed the protective cover on the pickguard it left a glue that was almost impossible to remove. Had to use acetone nail polish remover to finally get it off.
Musicians friend was nice enough to send me a set of strings at no charge.

My MD100S12 is a great guitar - nice low action, good sound, solid top - no issues. For $200 its a real bargain too. Thank you GC!

Love my Mitchell 12 String

By Jim Bowers

from Sarasota, FL

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this about three months ago and couldn't be happier with it. I play it more than any other guitar I have because it sounds so great. The action is excellent and the sustain is unbelievable. It has such a big sound that it really doesnt need an amp to increase the sound when playing with others. I love the abalone accents and the finish overall is great. The only thing I can say bad is I have had a hard time keeping it in tune but this is a small nuisance for such a fun instrument. I would recommend it over others costing two or three times more.

Mitchell mitchell mitchell!!!!

By Sam DuBois

from Oakdale MN

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

I was looking for a guitar at my local guitarcenter. Nothing snazzylike or hip I should say. Then I saw this Mitchell under used. it had a slight crack on the middle of the top from the bridge to the end. The man told me it was no problem by demonstraiting that the crack wasnt all the way through. It was only 100 bucks! I could not go wrong! So now im off to get that little crack fixed up at musicgoround for a good 50 or so.

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

Amazing guitar for the price. holds tune well and is very very loud. slight buzz from lowest E string. but was fixed by new strings. The only drawback is that it has extremely low action.

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

Great guitar, great price! Bought this a few weeks ago and love it. Solid, plays nice, sounds great, ultra-low action, stays in tune, looks good, low price, solid top, warranty, Guitar Center is great and stands by their products. What more could you want? I wouldn't hesitate to buy this guitar again.

Not thrilled

By Ozarkboy2

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

I've read both good and bad on this guitar, and I usually have good results. This wasn't the case with this guitar. By the time I got it almost tuned, it had developed a huge crack. Didn't order another one. Just refund, will pick something different. Would not reccomend this guitar...

Excellent Value

By snapfla

from Cleveland, OH

Comments about Mitchell MD100S12 Dreadnought 12-String Acoustic Guitar:

I already have a trusty acoustic and a classical guitar, but I wanted to have a cheap 12-string around. I went to GC a couple days ago with this in mind, looking for a low-priced, used, mediocre 12-string. I was very surprised when I picked up this guitar. It has a nice full, warm sound. The action is near perfect, it feels fairly sturdy, tuning is smooth, and I am very happy with it so far. Time will tell how this guitar will hold up, but if you want an entry-level 12-string, maybe even mid-level, this is definitely it. This guitar is really a great value; you simply cannot go wrong with it.
