With today?s guitar market so widespread in variety and price range I could not find my guitar for weeks, I couldn?t make up my mind. Do I want an expensive guitar or something in the middle of the road? I was going to get an expensive guitar until I grasped my fingers on the fretboard of a Mitchell MD100 and seconds later I said ?ill take it?. The sound is solid and the guitar is light in weight which I like and it looks really nice for the price. I enjoy playing the Mitchell guitar every day, it sounds like a really expensive guitar, but it is only a fraction of the price! My neighbor liked it so much and the price he went out and bought one too. What do you have to lose its inexpensive easy to play sounds great and is only a fraction of the cost compared to other guitars. The Mitchell is really good for beginner players and I recommend it for every one!

Tried out a half dozen of these guitars and the result was the same on all of them nothing but horrible fret buzz. It is a shame as these guitars look and feel very nice. I was hoping to get something to bang around on with a half decent sound so I wouldn't have to take my Martin D-16GT outside too much but these guitars need some serious fret work on them. The action was fine so it wasn't that. I found a cheap Rogue RD80 that sounds much better, better action, and no buzz at all. Sure, it's laminate and practically bullet-proof but it did out-do the Mitchell MD-100 by a mile and for less $$... This thing can probably double as a flotation device or a weapon if needed. :-)

Comments about Mitchell MD100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I'm 40 years old and purchased this as my first guitar. I've been playing around with it for a few weeks, just learning the basic chords, practicing chord transitions, impressing my kids that I can play the simple tab to Amazing Grace, and building some callouses. It's easy to tune and stays in tune for several practice sessions. It feels good and I got it at an amazing price. So, I'm very satisfied! Does it sometimes sound bad (fret buzz, etc.)? Of course, but I have nowhere near the level of expertise to tell whether that's the fault of the guitar itself or the newbie trying to play it. I had no idea if I would like learning guitar, so I couldn't justify spending several hundred more. For me, this is a great, inexpensive starter guitar. Maybe in a year or so I'll be surprised by the difference when moving up to a better guitar, but in the meantime, this MD100 is worth every penny.

    Decent Budget Guitar

Comments about Mitchell MD100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is a low budget guitar that plays well enough for a beginner. The action was a little high and I need to slightly tune it fairly often. I bought it on sale and for the price I paid, I am satisfied with it.

Comments about Mitchell MD100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is the second Mitchelle guitar I have purchased from Guitar center. Quality is excellent for an inexpensive guitar. I have Taylor, Martin, Yamaha, Washburn, Gretch and others and to be sure it doesn't match the sound quality of most of these but it's not way behind. It needed some minor set up after which it played well. The sound it bright like Taylor but not as defined. I will play this guitar because Varriety in sound is important to me but it will never replace my Washburn D10 as my favorite playing guitar. If you can get it on sale as I did it's a great deal at full price it still reasonable but a good use Washburn Or Yamaha is better. Having said all this I would never sell this guitar for what I paid for it on sale, think It!s time to play it now.

Comments about Mitchell MD100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This is by far the most guitar you can get for the money. If you are starting out and you are on a budget this is the guitar to consider. It plays like a high end guitar and souds nice and crisp with a nice low end as well.
The Build quality and over all details, I give it a 5 stars for what it is.

Comments about Mitchell MD100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

If you want a guitar but you don't want to spend your whole paycheck this is an excellent choice. You are not paying for a high end guitar so you will not get a high end guitar. For a beginner what you do get is a cheap way to open up the door to see if you really want to continue playing the guitar. If you absolutely love it and you keep improving you will more than likely want to get a better guitar. And after learning on this guitar, you will really respect the sound you get with a better guitar.
