Guitar exceeded my expectations for playability and workmanship, stock pick ups sounded pretty decent but I replaced them with seymour Duncan JB , jazz and a Duncan designed single coil I had on hand. Easily has become one of if not my favorite guitar . The unfinished maple neck combined with the super jumbo frets feels amazing , the only thing wrong with my guitar was the tone pot was defective and was shorting out, wired in a new pot and pickups and it simply shreds, you'd be hard pressed to find a better guitar for the money.

Comments about Mitchell HD400 Hard Rock Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I am a beginner guitar player and what can I say, not much since I'm new. From the begening when I first saw this guitar I fell I love. You don't have to be a professional guitarist to admire the beautiful of it. This Mitchell guitar is prefect for beginners. I wanted a really good guitar to practice on. I didn't want a cheap nor a really expensive guitar (I already have a really expensive guitar lol) I wanted a go to guitar and off the back this HD400 meets all my expectations. C shape neck helps you get around the entire fretboard. The Floyd Rose tremolo was a bit hard to get it into tone (again I'm a beginner) but with a few videos and some patients you'll have it in tone in no time. I would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone. The style feel the sound makes it all worth the money.

Comments about Mitchell HD400 Hard Rock Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

This guitar is well worth the money. One can play jazz, rock and blues on it with the right settings.
I gave it four stars rather than five due to when I put the amp in crunch mode through my Mesa Boogie I get interference sound due to the pickups or possibly wiring not being shielded? I haven't figured that out yet. It may only be on my end and not the fault of the guitar. But I have other high-end electric guitars which do not have this problem. Maybe I need to put in shielding. I'd be curious what others have done for this.
The neck is really nice to barre chord on and riff. It really is a very nice neck with the right size of frets.
Usually, with a Floyd Rose, there is a problem when bending strings. On mine, this is not a problem.
Seriously, if you are looking for a great, inexpensive guitar, you should definitely check this out. I purchased mine from Guitar Center online. I was not paid to post a review.

Comments about Mitchell HD400 Hard Rock Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I use this guitar to practice, as well as write original music. As a metal musician, accessibility to the 24th fret is detrimental; and while searching for a new guitar, I wanted to eliminate the issue of having to stretch so much just to reach it. Originally I was going to grab a Sterling by Music Man JP60, but decided to research a little to see what other guitars offered the same feature; and that's when this beauty popped up. Is the budget Music Man better? Probably. In no way am I regretful for purchasing this Mitchel HD400, though. When holding it for the first time, and feeling it out, this guitar felt marvelous - it's, frankly, one of the most enjoyable 6 strings to play that I've ever picked up. The only downside to this guitar is that it's very shallow around the 24th fret on the high E string. Whether it be tapping, or just playing in general, it's very dull and dies out quite quickly; so you have to try to be as precise as possible, with your fingering, to be able to get a clear note from it. Aside from that, everything exceeded expectations. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Comments about Mitchell HD400 Hard Rock Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I really like everything from looks to the unplugged sound. But, when I'm plugged in, kept cutting out on the high e near the bridge. The pickups appear to be generic as in, not setup for the F spacing despite the replica Floyd Rose. Picked up some replacements, switches and pots. I'll replace everything, including the wiring and see if that fixes the problem.

If anything, the furniture is great, and the setup seems to be spot on, neck is good as in the spacing is from the 1st fret to the 22nd is nice and tight with no apparent buzzing.

Comments about Mitchell HD400 Hard Rock Double Cutaway Electric Guitar:

Mitchell Nailed it!!!...(wow, never thought I'd say that).....I honestly Cannot find Anything I don't like about this guitar....It's really THAT good...like Scary good! I seriously cannot believe this thing came out of China....did they ship US workers there, or what? lol. The craftsmanship is Spot on, action is butter Smooth, and plays EXACTLY like a $1500 guitar(minus all the cosmetic details and prettied up bells and whistles of more expensive stuff.) This is a straight up Metal guitar, that you can play Anything on... fret board is straight wood, no clear coat, meaning Faster action, the oils on your skin lubricate the wood.(Van Halen himself preferred this). The tremolo is Floyd Rose Special...which is impressive considering the cost of the guitar. Floyd Rose special is 1 step above the bottom of the barrel Asian cheapo Trems. Pick-ups are Good...not amazing, but definitely not bad....it's Dual Humbuckers, it's got a Fat sound and gets the job done. This guitar really felt like Eddie's Wolfgang series, mixed with a Kramer, nice big jumbo frets! You can play this guitar for hours, no fighting or fatiguing! Whoever built these guitars took their time, and cared about the production.....My guess is people walk by them Simply because of the "Mitchell" brand...which is owned by Guitar Center. But I don't care Who's name is on it, the build quality is GREAT, and it really holds it's own! I've had this guitar a couple weeks, and Still pick it up, over my expensive stuff, just so simple and smooth.
