Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Nice looking and playing instrument. Love the flame maple binding and porous look to the wood on the back and sides. Has a vintage vibe, and a total steal on sale! Quality instrument for a rediculous price!!

Mitchell MD300S contrasted against the ME1 Element series

    By Bruce

Comments about Mitchell Element Series ME1 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

First of all, the ME1 is NOT a top of the line model for Mitchell. Both the ME1 and the MD300S feature a solid spruce top. But the MD300S goes beyond with INDIAN ROSEWOOD sides and back, NOT wimpy, cheaper Sapele. You might visually mistake the striped Sapele grain for Rosewood, but when it comes to tone there is NO comparison. I have played both, and the one I chose, for the Martin-like tone, was the MD300S. In addition, the MD300S also features gold-plated hardware, for a truly top-end presentation. GC sells the MD300S at a resonable price To the ear of this pro who's been playing acoustic guitars for nearly 50 years, the difference in tone more than justifies the difference in price.
