Two Thumbs up

By STEVE PALLOTTA

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2925 Bird's Eye Stratocaster Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard and Jumbo Frets:

I purchased this neck because it had 22 frets (Jumbo in this case), and was maple ( I needed a maple neck to match a color scheme). I'm not a luthier, but the one I use told me to bring my guitar to him, when ever I put a new neck on it, so he can line it up properly. He claims, even new ones need lined up and tweaked. This one was lazer straight right out of the box, and plays perfect, no adjustments needed (other than typical string height and intonation). It also stays in tune and does not seem to be effected by temperature changes. My Luthier will not be getting rich off of me, unfortunately for him. It comes in a box, within a box, and has the peg holes pre- drilled. Mounting holes will need to be drilled, as well as String trees. It does not say Fender or anything else visible on the head stock (in case you were wondering). The Maple has attractive grain (Birdseye) and is very sharp looking on any guitar. you'll need to put tuning machines on it, and I suggest Sperzel Locking keys. I can't say much about the truss rod, as I did not even have to touch it! The cost is very reasonable considering what Fender wants for the same thing. If you like Birdseye Maple, and 22 Jumbo Frets, this is the one for you. ciao for now. Guido Huckball was here and gone.

Exellent neck! Better than expected! Great piece of wood!

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2925 Bird's Eye Stratocaster Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard and Jumbo Frets:

Sometimes I see mighty mite necks get bad reviews. For me, yes they do have a cheap (but fully functional nut,but my neck is beautiful not overly figured birds eye. I was tiered of my American strat's low frets, and this neck made a big improvement on playability & sound. I see no quality issues with the frets no dressing was required although not perfect,I expected to have to do some light dressing but not yet! The radius in the neck pocket was larger than the body so it did not make full contact on the end heel but intonation was actually more even across the bridge than the stock neck.Did I mention the neck is way better than the stock neck on this American Standard Strat? I have had some other brands of necks and for the money I would definitely buy again. I would have given 5 stars but I didn't like how loose the tuner holes are. Stew mac sells this brand of neck also and they told me not to worry about the hole size with modern tuner types. They were right and the cheaper Gotoh tuners work perfect and the guitar is solid as heck ready for gigging!

There are many like it but this one is mine

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2925 Bird's Eye Stratocaster Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard and Jumbo Frets:

Features: 10mm or 3/8" tuning holes for the modern standard tuning machine of your choice. Real mother of pearl and abolone dot inlays that just glimmer, if they're not real, they look real, looking far better than clay dots. Stainless steel frets that after a crown, level and polish look outstanding. Quality: Most people don't know this product is about 90% finished. The final holes for tuning machines are missing, it is missing pilot holes for the tail to body, frets REQUIRE a crown, level, polish and edge smoothing. The product is supposed to come this way. Do not think you can just buy this neck, bolt it to your strat and have a new smoking axe, a lot of work is involved with this change to your guitar. All that said, this is an outstanding neck providing you add the necessary elbow greese and skill or luthier services required to finally get it attached to your guitar. Value: Corian nut, birds eye maple neck with oil finish, birds eye maple finger board with mother of pearl and abolone inlays for a hundred bucks! Adding a neck of this quality as a requirement to any strat would easily add a 1000 dollars to the retail cost of that strat. Based on that, this is a smoking deal. Overall: My goal was to have a maple necked surf green strat with Seymour Duncan Hot, Cool and Vintage rails pick guard. This is the maple neck part of that goal. This neck exceeded my beauty expectaions. I began with a Squire Vintage Modified Surf Green strat and took that and this neck to my local Guitar Center garage in Tacoma for Ron to attach the neck. While Ron did his most excellent work, I built the SD Rails pick guard.
