Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

So I replaced my squier vintage jazz bass's neck with this one, and it made it such a better bass. The finish is thin and not too glossy, so if you are looking for an overly glossy finish go elsewhere. However its still smooth and my hand slides around it very easily. With this upgrade and the basslines pickups I put in it, Its better than any non american fender I've played. Can't recommend enough, honestly I was really surprised it was so nice.

      Great price! Great neck!

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

I received the replacement neck for my P-bass. I took some time to file the edges of the fret wires and set up the neck once it was mounted to the guitar. It plays like a dream! very smooth. I chose to finish it with an amber shellac to give it a retro look and feel. No doubt my next project will have a Mighty Mite neck too!

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

It comes with a very thin coat of water based poly. frets were beveled but the frets were too long. If you take your time to finish it properly, you will have a very nice product to put on your bass. the fit in the pocket was pretty much spot on.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

This P-bass neck by Mighty Mite is very nicely made and fit the Mighty Mite P-bass body I also purchased perfectly. The maple is straight grained with almost no brown staining that is evident in cheaper maple. The finish is a very, very light oil and can be built up very easily with a rub on oil like Tru-Oil for a more durable finish. The frets are installed nicely and leveled. I did need to slightly file the fret overhangs on the side of the fretboard, but that went very quicky with a flat fine mill file. I installed the neck with a slight turn (1/8 turn) of the truss rod. After the bass was assembled and strung up (.045 to .105 strings) it played very good. The nut was cut fine enough to not require any additional work. Very pleased with this product, it just takes a few minutes of filing and a coat or two of Tru-Oil finish to have a real nice usable neck.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

I bought this neck to replace a SX P-J bass neck (project bass). The neck required that I drilled my own holes but that wasn't too difficult. The finish is a thin true oil coat. I didn't add anything to it. I just put it on and played. This neck feels good to me and very easy to play. Others may prefer to add poly or lacquer to it. The width at the nut is perfect(somewhere between jazz and p bass I think) and the back side of the neck is perfect. Fret work was good in my opinion. I did have to shim the neck with a very thin shim to get the strings closer to the fret board around the 7th fret up towards the body. Now it is the best playing bass that I own. I have another SX that I intend to buy another Mighty Mite neck for. I'm very happy with this neck.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

The neck fit perfectly in the old P-Bass body and the frets had just the right "feel" with little setting effort...
The grain and color were very similar to the original neck.
This neck is a great value!

            you'd be crazy NOT to

            By Joe Cirilo

            from Lyndhurst, New Jersey

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

Mighty mite definitely delivers when it comes to high quality replacement parts for your bass, and this neck is no exception. The grain on the fret board is beautiful, everything's smooth and has a really great solid feeling to it while not weighing down too much. Pretty much Canadian maple neck, maple fret board, you get what you paid for. Just remember to either know what you're doing, or get a professional to put this sucker on, it takes a little bit of drilling in the back to mount the neck, and then you're gonna want it perfectly aligned so you don't have any trouble with it. But otherwise I can't find a flaw with it, I love it.

Good neck, overtime will become great.

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2907 P-Bass Replacement Neck with Maple Fingerboard:

I put this P-bass neck on my J-bass body to get a wider grip and a harder, more aggressive sound. I think I achieved just that. The neck after a few adjustements gave me the tone I was looking for.Firts, the neck is quite massive (it has a thicker grip, not to be confused with nut or neck width), probably 1/8th thicker, more depth, than the neck on my circa 2000 Fender MIM Jazz Bass Deluxe. I bit odd at first (feels more like a music man sterling bass neck) but favorable for it is giving me massive sustain and tone character. The neck lined up nicely in the pocket but I had to drill my own holes (which is fine since access to a drill press is easy for me). The nut was a bit too high for my liking so I had to carefully remove it and file down a good 1/16th of an inch (sounds like a lot, that's because it is!!!). I also adjusted the truss rod to have less of an upbow. Now it has amazing action and compliments the edginess I am going for. The finish feels strange at first, thin and cheap, but then again it's something I'm not used to (glossy neck on my Fender is superb). After a few days of playing the finish has grown on me. Fret work and neck straightness doesn't seem like a problem as of yet (haven't noticed any flaws). Overall this is a good neck if you don't mind doing some work; for this price, it's totally worth fixing up yourself. I'm sure after a year or two of playing, it'll feel amazing.
