One the finish is pretty. The price was low, hence the three stars instead of no stars. I really was happy with this body until final assembly. I masked and predrilled all the screw holes before assembling this guitar and the finish still stared and chipped during drilling and when the screws were inserted. This is a problem with a lot of new poly finishes they get too hard and are prone to chipping. Then it turned out that the output jack cavity was not finished. The counter bore to accommodate the jack had not been done so the jack would not fit. Boring the hole for the jack relief was like playing operation where you lose $$$ every time you touch the side. ? Also the hole for the jack wire was drilled at an angle from the jack side to the control cavity which is backward resulting in the wire coming into the output jack cavity at the top right where the jack plate protrudes into the cavity. Again the jack would not fit. Then the hole for the ground wire runs through the route to accommodate the mounting screws for a humbucker in the bridge position. This required trimming one screw down to allow the wire to pass underneath it.
Beware that the color isn't necessarily "black". For me I was pleasantly surprised to see it had many interesting colors going on in the finish. Depending on how the light catches the wood-grain, it has varying shades of deep aqua blues where the wood-grain was dark, to sea-foam, sage and gun-metal greens within the lighter areas of the wood. Overall color is "olive-charcoal" (just made that up). The front of the body is perfectly fine - however the back has a few tiny specks in the finish you can feel to the touch. Maybe I'm lucky those specks are only on the back, and other bodies might have them on the front as well (don't know). For the price, don't expect perfection.
I couldn't wait to start my new guitar project, so I ordered this body. When I opened it to inspect it tho, I found that who ever stained it, and clear coated the body, had burned through the paint during the sanding process, and it is right on the FRONT of the guitar(totally noticeable). What sucks is this is a non returnable item, and no one will do anything for you.Its a bummer.
