The MM2919 P-Bass replacement neck is constructed of maple and a fretless ebonol fingerboard that has been given an oil-based finish.
Since the 1970's Mighty Mite has manufactured custom and replacement bass parts for luthiers, repairmen, and guitarists who can't wait to hot-rod their Fender Precision bass or P-style bass.
i was very pleased at the quality of construction, wood, and finish of this neck. the fingerboard material (ebonol) really adds definition to my attack, allowing subtle passages to cut through while playing live. with a little nut filing (nut is set up for a fretted neck), i instantly achieved that classic jaco sound. because of the excellent quality throughout, this is really a steal for the price. five out of five.
What a find! This neck looks and sounds great on my Squier P-Bass, and gave me an opportunity to experiment with a fretless bass for a minimal investment. The original fretted neck had such a bad bow bow in it that I had relegated the instrument to a wall decoration. But now it is once again a viable, playable instrument and I enjoy playing it again. I would definitely recommend this neck to anyone wanting to converted an existing p or j bass to fretless, or as a replacement neck for an existing fretless p or j bass. The fit and finish are flawless and I have gotten many compliments on the ebanol fingerboard.
