Overview

The 150W Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier amp head is a machine of mayhem, unleashing all the punishing gain found in the original Rectos' 2 channels and adding a powerful third channel dedicated to rhythm sounds. The high-gain lead channel now has an additional mode dubbed Raw that travels the region of gain below that of the original Vintage mode. With its touch-sensitive response, Raw lets you explore the heavier side of blues on up to classic rock, revealing the soulful nature of this amazing tube-rectified power section.

With these 3 versatile channels, 8 incredible modes, the Solo Control feature, a programmable/footswitchable Effects Loop, and a stage-ready 5-button footcontroller, the Triple Rectifier head is a pure-bred, gain-wielding beast.

boutique sound and quality

Comments about Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier 150W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I've been lucky enough to have owned two of these amazing amps. They are very versatile and can be used for any style of music. Each channel is capable of a wide range of tones. With the flip of a switch, you can go from a raw "british" tone, to straight on high gain mayhem! The controls are very easy to use and I love the fact that you have complete control over ever channel independently. No shared eq's here! All three have their own independent tone, gain, presence, and volume controls. Not too many other (quality) amps offer that. But to some up this amp, all you can do is play it yourself. If you haven't gotten a chance to play one of these, you owe it to yourself to check one out. It may be the amp you've been looking for and so much more.

Tweak til' You Freak!

By Vitamin B

Comments about Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier 150W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The Mesa/Boogie Rectifier line is simply on of the best amps you can buy. It's the type of amplifier you tweak and, tweak until you get the most perfect natural sound. Then you run what ever effect you would like into it's highly detailed FX loop to get that perfect mix of your preferred tone. The amp gets any Clean tone you can imagine. A secret to getting the Sparkling clean sound I would recommend EL-34's; However, just flip to the pushed mode pump the mids and highs and, cut the the gain to about 9 o'clock. push the channel Volume. It also has the any Rock/Metal lead and rhythm tone you want. Make it sound like a Slo, Marshall, Engl, or just the Classic Mesa Recto Grind. Buy it!

most amazing object known to man

Comments about Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier 150W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

i have owned this amp for years and it still astonishes me everytime i play it. dial it in right and this amp will punch you in the stomach with power and still give you sweet a clear sound. but its still versatile enough to where you can get beautiful cleans. this amp will not lose its punch at high volumes and the three channel setup with the solo and fx options will let you do whatever you need. ive played live shows. ive made my vision fuzzy by turning it up not even halfway. if you have the money, dont even question it, buy this amp. ive tried others and nothing even compares. no marshall, peavey, line 6, bugera or any others that i forgot come even close.

150 watts of Brutality

By sixstringapostle

Comments about Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier 150W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

Into a MESA/Boogie Oversize Balcony Slant cab, The lows are Incredible and the gain is very crisp, but also smooth and thick at the same time. Has a very massive sound. I use the modern setting on the 2nd channel for rhythm and the 3rd for leads so I can have seperate levels(scooped mids are great for rythm, but they kill your lead tone). I can do just about anything but really excels at metal. P.S. You can remove the outer two power amp tubes to bring the beast down to a more manageable 100 watts for smaller situations.

Life Changer

By Butcher of Bakersfield

Comments about Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier 150W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The 3 channels make this monster tick. I used to have a 2 channel 3Xrec but it was hard to get the full experience because you had to switch the 3rd channel manually. If your guitar is of a lesser quality than the amp I recommend an upgrade. With lesser quality guitars the amp is almost too thick and sludgy. I know because I just upgraded my guitar and my new sound is jaw dropping...no effects needed!!!

Great if you have a heavy touch, not for leads.

By Friend of Dug

Comments about Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier 150W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

What can you say about Mesa? They know power and that is what Mesa is known for. However, being a guitarist for over 20 years now, power is not all there is to metal. The tone is definitely thick and it punches when it clips. No doubt about that. However, this amp is meant more for someone who plays alot of punchy rythm guitar. I don't hate this amp, but I don't like it that much either. It makes your guitar feel sluggish and feel like you have to dig at your strings when you play becasue it is very touchy. Hence the power. I have played through both dual and triple rectifiers from Mesa and being that I really like definition with a natural feel that isn't sluggish, I have to go with Peavey. If you don't really care about that and feel that the sluggish feel helps you play better, then by all means get a Mesa, there is definitely no room for error and when you get used to it, does make you play harder and a little better, but if you play a lot of leads, I would not reccomend this amp. It's a great amp, it has a lot of power and it is clear to an annoying level, but if you play a lot of solos, like say Satriani or Vai, or Into Eternity or something like that , I would have to suggest a JSX if you have the money to spend on a Mesa. If not , get a ValveKing. Yes the VK is a different monster all together and you have to tweak it like you do the Mesa to get your favorite tone, but you can't beat the price. Mesa is great for that 6 string sound, but I'm not so sure about extended range guitars. Not knocking Mesa, but it all comes down to your style. Great for Rythms, not so great for leads.
