I would give my TA15 seven stars !!! Im not a pro, just a hobbiest, and I wanted to buy American made products to play my American Made guitar. Nice and light to pick up. The only complaint I have at all is the way they word the stand by mode to warm up the tubes for 30 seconds before starting up. To me, if stand by is in the "ON" mode.......you should not be able to play....as its in standby. Standby OFF, should mean you can play once again. I also bought the 2 x 12 cab, with V30 speakers and WOW, what a combo !!
Yea, it's a little expensive, but you get what you pay for (or less). This is my 3rd boogie and it met all of my expectations for tone. The range of tones this thing is capable of is impressive but I wish I could footswitch between all 5 voicings instead of just 2! How kool would that be! This little beast is almost loud enough to play live with a band depending on the bands volume level & dynamics, and Im thinking its gonna record like a dream (It's very quiet, even with the gain turned up). It's pretty tough to critique this amp, but for the price it would have been nice to include a line out especially since you can use this live. However, as with all amps of this wattage rating, you cant get much low end out of them. Just the nature of the beast! Ive got a mesa 2x12 verticle slant cab on backorder w/ GC that I cant wait to hear with it (It will also play double duty with my mark combo). Hopefully it will sound a little louder with a little more bass than just running it through a single 12 or 10, like Ive been testing it with, (10" mesa black shadow) BUT all in all, the overdriven sounds this thing is capable of, are very rich in sweet sounding second order harmonics and a real joy to the ears!! I agree with Mesa Boogie, long after the sting of the price has worn off, you will still be impressed and glad you stepped up! ROCK ON!!
everything good everyone else said plus the glowing blue lights... i am telling you, i didn't even need to hear it, i saw the glowing blue lights in a dimly lit room and i was done. fortunately it also turned out to be one of the nicest sounding amps i have or had. this is my number 1 now, and it is so pretty. i am living proof, paint it black, put some chrome on it, put some knobs on it, make it glow in the dark, charge a lot of money for it and men will buy it. i love mine
After 35 years on the road I am getting a little to old to be draggin' Twin Reverbs in and out of the bar at 3 in the morning. This little Guy is Really Something Else!!! Hooked to a 2x12 "Vintage 30" Fender Pine-box, its all you need to coax everything from Tweedy blues to that Marshall Growl. I use 3 pedals, an old Duncan Wah, a Suhr "Riot" that just recently replaced my TS-808, and a 65 fender reverb pedal and can fill a medium sized venue will all it can take. You cant beat this thing for what it does.. I am sold on it..
Best lunchbox on market hands down tone machine! Personally went through vox nt, tiny terror and haze 15 before i found this and I won't be giving it back! 5 distinctively different channels, three wattage settings prfessional quality tone from bedroom to small gigs. In like marshall sound but they no longer make them like they used to and Mesa Boogie covers the tonal range with another quality instrument.
I love being able to dial in the perfect amount of crunch on the top boost side. I set the gain relatively high and throttle it with the volume knob on the guitar. The switchable wattage settings are great. I set clean channel at 15w or 25w to get extra headroom, and dirty channel at 5w for extra gain at low volume. The multiwatt feature makes it easy to get the natural power tube saturation as well as preamp saturation at high or low volumes. This amp allows you to really experiment with the sound of the tubes. It's not for chunky metal though, 25watts doesn't push much bass.
