The Mesa Boogie Lone Star amp serves up 2 channels of tonal gold. Channel 1 gives you a punchy, shimmering twang that gives way to furry smoothness. It's based on a traditional vintage/boutique gain structure to produce angelic and warm clean sounds in its low- to medium-gain ranges. Like most great tube amps, this channel can be driven to clip and produces incredible solo possibilities for blues or roots chording styles.

The Lone Star's Channel 2 has a split personality. At the flick of a switch, it can clone the clean magic of Channel 1 (with an added touch of blues-roots gain) or kick in an additional high-gain amplifier with its own dedicated control. With stunning performance inspired by the pivotal Mark I, the interaction of 3 cascading Gain controls unlocks the historic vault of groundbreaking lead sounds.

All the Tones You'll Ever Need

By Bobby

from Tennessee

This is my first Mesa/Boogie product. If their prices weren't as steep, I would definitely own more. Where to start with this amp. Looks nice, even feels nice with the vinyl texture. Oh but the sound... or should I say sounds? Channel 1 is your sparkling, shiny clean that begins to break up with the turn of the gain knob. Channel 2 quickly picks up where 1 left off by offering more gain and a "drive" switch. With this switch engaged, you can easliy achieved smooth, sustaining solos or just crunchy power chords with the drive knob turned up along with the gain knob. You can pick your wattage, from 10, 50, or 100 watts. Tone that is great for The Eagles-ish country, clean jazz, SRV blues, or just good ole rock 'n roll all in one amp. Also for those who want to absolutely NAIL that Andy Timmons tone. Now if I could just find a Stiletto and some Memory Men....

This is a marvelous Amplifier that is very friendly to the User and to Effects Pedals as well. The different Tones available to you are at your command! Just take some time to get to know your Boogie and I promise you it will full fill your wildest expectations of what Tone is all about! I've never seen such great engineering as I've seen in a Mesa Boogie. You definitely get more bang for the Buck with a Boogie and they are built to the hilt and won't let you down when you need them the most. I'm totally impressed with this Amp and I've sold all my Boutique "Point-to-Point" Amps because they just don't sound near as good as this Lone Star...they just don't. Hell, there's even a cooling fan to help keep my Power Tubes Cool and extend their Useful Life!

Pro Quality Amp.

from Turlock, Ca.

I have a Lone Star head and cab but have also played the 1x12 and 2x12 combos. This amp strikes a very nice balance between having plenty of features and also being easy to set up. You can immediately dial in great clean or gain tones, but if you'd like, you also have many combinations of options you can use to explore the wide range of sounds this amp has to offer. You can choose 100, 50, or 10 watts on each channel, you can select tube or silicon diode rectifiers, tweed or full power etc. The clean tones are beautiful with nice rich overtones. The reverb is very lush, and each channel has it's own reverb control. The gain tones can go from a slightly gritty blues tone all the way to a high gain, punchy, over the top lead sound. This thing has tons of gain. Very impressive. If you are in the market for a versatile amp with great tone, look no further.

When i first hooked up and heard the clean on this amp it put a HUGE smile on my face i mean this amp really sounds as amazing as everyone says it does i hit a note and it hung there for a long time i mean the sustain was incredible every note was crisp and clear and truly violin like words cant really describe how good this amp sounds and the overdrive on this thing is enough and yes you can get an aggressive sound out of this amp like the owners manual says you may have to change your tubes a little sooner because the strenght of this amp and turning the overdrive and gain past 3 o clock you will have a sound that will not dissapoint. The 10watt setting is awesome sounding the 50watt is amazing and the 100watt setting is LOUD and STUNNING the louder it got it still sounded clean both settings.if anyone says this amp sounds bad they are lying it maybe not the sound there looking for but they definetly cannot say this amp sounds bad or of poor quality.this amp is one of a kind and is truly a HIGH qaulity and the sounds that come out of this thing are AMAZING.THANKS MESA for a great amp
